That really turned out great! I would definitely put a coat of Cerakote clear on it to protect it. The bare aluminum finish won’t hold up. It will darken and corrode very quickly

Ok... but whats the best way to clean valve coveres for your everday shade tree mechanic without this type of equipment?

it depends on the contamination and ageing. Sometimes a degrease, sometimes acid wash. Also depends what the cover is made from.

Terrible finish, looks very patchy!

What you are seeing are the corroded areas on the alloy as lights reflects in to the pitting. With out recasting a new piece you can not get a better finish than vapour blasting.

@@ZeroTo60Tube I have been wet Blasting since 1996 and seen every type of corrosion possible, never had patchy work like that!!
