Es war schön das Versuchsgelände Horstwalde wieder zusehen. Ich erinnere mich wie wir für längst vergangene 4x4 Hefte, die Supertests mit jensten Geländewagen die den Namen damals noch zu Recht trugen, durchführten 😊 Schade war so wenig Wasser im Wassergraben, sah nicht tiefer aus als 30-40cm. ... Toller Film, hat mir gut gefallen und liess viele uralte Erinnerungen hoch kommen.

Ein sehr schönes Auto in einem tollen Testgelände. Mit einer Absenkung des Reifendruckes wäre wohl die sandige Steigung keine Herausforderung für den Zetros gewesen.

great zetros, but you had air down the tires when u got stuck in the sand, because it would make it eaier to get out and it would be less load on the gearbox when trying to get unstuck, and once you finish you may air up again

Hi Pete, ja ein Hammer Teil. Wenn man das Geld hätte und so unabhängig wäre um heute auf Expedition zu gehen, dann würde ich es noch heute umsetzen. Mein G ist aus 2006, zumindest die Basis is gegeben. Der Zetros ist noch ein Traum, der vielleicht in der Zukunft einmal möglich werden kann.

Sand and steep climbs it looks cool and impressive. Now I would like to see how this cool truck will handle the mud... When the road is washed out and as treacherous as possible. Because as the practice of the War in Ukraine from the full-scale invasion in 2022 showed, it is the mud in spring and autumn that becomes the most difficult test for all-terrain vehicles.

@@peteruppert 65 PSI is still rock solid steam roller tires. No reason for off road, low speed travel that you couldn’t drop it in the 25 PSI range. You would have driven through all of that without ever slipping a tire.

Hi, love your truck, I have a Kurzhauber myself. But you might look in to lighter springs and remove the anti-sway bar in the rear. It looks like you have zero axle articulation? The Unterfahrschutz follows the rear axle 100%?

the springs are stock and made for max weight per axle (10t max) so they do not move so much as the rear axle load is only 7t.. but the frame is mega flexilbe and so absorbing most of the terrain..

@@peteruppert I know the frame is very flexible, it’s the same on the Mercedes 1113 I have. But the 1113 was sold both with and without rear sway bar, for that exact reason, and I know several have had softer more flexible TÜV approved springs installed. It might be a good idea to look in to that? I suspect we are stressing the frames in a way they weren’t meant to be, when the suspension is so stiff, all flexing is in the frame. I’m sure they won’t crack, but still…

From 2:36 until 3:40, it seems all the tires were fully inflated. Wouldn't it be better if the tires were deflated 50% to give better traction on loose rock (or sandy) terrain?

normally they have 7.0 bar for roads and freeway - here they were down to 4.5 bar - but yes, you can go down even to 2.0 bar - but you have the risk of damaging the side of the tires then..

50% deflated tires ONLY if you like not to use those tires ANYMORE except to get out from that situation then throw them away, otherwise, if once you deflate the tire to 50% such tires are destroyed, permanently deformed the side walls. Deflating tires can be up to 20% maximum, is enough just to get out from some difficult terrain, you will get enough grip, but NEVER EVER dont choose the easiest way, but choose the correct one, even if it is hard.

Michelin actually recommend deflating tires down to less than 50% for tracks and even less for sand. they provide the charts@@thepreserver83

Beeindruckend! Wobei sich jetzt die Frage stellt, ob auf dem Wunschzettel fürs Christkind bereits eine zentrale Reifendruckkontroll-Anlage 😀. Sind das eigentlich Beadlock-Felgen, also könnten sie den Reifen bei extrem niedrigem Druck überhaupt halten?

das sind normale 2-teilige Felgen, ich hatte sie auf 2 bar runter, das geht schonmal.. zentrale Reifendruckkontroll-Anlage hätte ich auf Island auf jeden Fall gut brauchen können!

Why rear bumper bar fit with the rear suspension? What is the reason? While climbing rock it goes in a very strange angle.

this bumber bar is to lift while off road driving. it keeps the level with the rear axle as its mounted on the frame, so it keeps level with axle while cabin keeps even with the drivers cabon - this construction provides maximum off road capabilties of the truck (all wheels crawling always on the ground for maximum traction) - and still you have an RV with big opening from living cabin to drivers cabin (Normally on this kind of trucks, both cabins are separated)

the bar in the back is an obligatory device requested by road worthy officials. all trucks must attach such in Germany. To protect car drivers crashing underneath the back of the truck in a car accident. to prevent them to chop off their heads:))

@@peteruppert ah.its just the way it was staying level I didn't know if it was part of am active ride height adjustment ,with maybe lasers sensing ground height and translating it in conjunction with various angle data and telemetry to hydrologic active dampners.same here in the us.ive had several friends back in and over cars on accident and our 18 wheelers in particular have reinforced crash bars.many fatalities before they were reinforced

Genau, das ist eine Standklimaanlage, die läuft auf Batteriestrom von der Kabine, auch ohne Truckmotor. Ist von Dometic.

DOMETIC - Standklimaanlage für Trucks.. läuft auf Kabinenbatterien, ohne dass der Motor läuft. Die Batterein werden von den Solarzellen auf dem Dach gespeist / geladen
