I like how it sounds heroic like he's the hero and tanjiro the villain, which really plays into that theme of hantengu acting like the victim despite his crimes

Well, Tanjiro and Muichiro attacked Hantengu when he was just entering the room without any bad intention (that's why they only noticed he was a Demon after seeing him). Imagine that Hantengu was just a good Demon just like Nezuko and Tamayo and he is just defending himself.

Hantengu is a filthy piece of shit who commits the worst atrocities and yet is truly convinced to be a victim that everyone bullies. So the fact he has the body of a child, someone so infantile, is meant to represent this.

I literally got goosebumps hearing this ost for the first time. I can feel his oppresive and heavy aura just hearing this ost only. Combine with the scene especially when Tanjiro struggle with the dragon wood. Just...... Wow. Words is an understatement for this...

I found it fitting because it show the villain are not only evil but are a Great Evil. Not some lowly petty evil like some thug or thieves but ancient, unreasonable, alluring and powerful evil force of nature that the short-lives humans must fight back for their lives or summit and died.

He's the one who hyped us up for the revesl of the upper ranks and he'll be the one to do it again showing off the big 3 upper moons and the huge jump in power when compared to the rest of the demons.

The other soundtracks didnt have a melody really. Just the Long String and choir. Zonhakutons Soundtrack is way slower, has a more Evan Beat, has a real melody, the Soundtrack was at the First time way louder then the Others and combined with the cgi dragons, which looked so smooth, it Just Made the perfect Feeling. Thats why i think it Hits so different

@@marisolmartinez5097 They are more ancient Sounding, but also has more "never" Instruments, just like the Akaza Theme. At most time they were more like a battle Sountrack, but i would describe it as a more demonic Theme. Like those other "normal" Demons. And yeah, the Zohakuten theme sounds more heroic and also a little tragic, cause of the backround piano.

@@anonymus4131 Interesting. I really like your description! Yes the clone’s theme definitely sounds more demonic, while Zohakuten is heroic. I think his sounds more heroic because he is Hantengu’s perception of Justice. Zohakuten mentions a few times that Tanjiro is bullying the weak and picking in an innocent. While the other emotions are there to defeat slayers and protect Hantengu. They’re like soldiers in a way and Zohakuten is the leader of it all, or the main one.

@@Ekeeeeisgood They aren't nerfed, it's only like this because there's multiple slayers vs. Hantengu. Zohakuten's form is way too powerful for Tanjiro and the gang that we can assume that the Love Hashira will join in the battle. Gyutaro's battle was not nerfed because they almost lost.

Ufotable* never disappoint us. Their other "flagship" anime called Fate also have godlike fighting scene, animation and bgm. But that anime have way heavier plot so most people don't understand the story 100% but it'll get you hooked as well as Demon Slayer

@@Burningdark i think that little fighting's only purpose was to justify why he is UM4 tho lmao his only reason to be there was basically to keep Mitsuri busy so Tanjiro can fight a boring ass demon... They really couldve done much better this season. Not with the animations, that was top tier, but with the fight "structure", the way the fight happened.

Like the part where theyre screaming at each other etc. They did implement the manga very well, but if the manga didnt do sth that great to begin with, why not make it better in the anime with slight additions? Many animes do that and thats what makes both versions worthwhile imo

Exactly. It's the moment you realize they have not been fighting the upper moon 4 yet. Just his squad of lower moons basically. I've read the manga and was floored by the anime entrance even knowing what would happen. What's scary is knowing just how much stronger the other 3 are. This show captures the power scale so well.

This theme really does fit zohakuten's character,it sounds very heroic and doesn't seem like it's a villains theme just like zohakuten he thinks of himself as the hero and Tanjiro and others as villains...also good work dude...👍

Zohakuten was already my favourite. And I read the manga a while back and knew what was going to happen. But holy fucking shit this blew my expectations away. The Animation and Soundtrack.

Zohakuten is nothing more than a violence apparatus for Hantengu to justify itself and protect itself. Despite this, he acts like the personification of absolute justice. I like that ugliness.

His entrance was so epic that it struck me with the same fear as Tanjiro and Genya. Even more epic that Tanjiro was able to fight past his fear and reframe Zohakuten’s hero/victim complex. Tanjiro shouting ”you’re not going to get away with your crimes, I WILL be the one to behead you” so powerful. 😭 I can only imagine how outclassed Tanjiro is compared to him but it’s that determination and resolve that makes him such a likable character

He's horribly outclassed. I love the fact tanjiro actually looks insane in that part. Like he's having to trick himself into not being scared but is terrified. Also trying to keep genyu going to. Basically being the cheerleader in a losing game.

The world of animation is truly something amazing, i remember reading the scene of Zohakuten summoning the dragon trees and it was quick 2 panels atleast? iirc. The anime along the music turned the scene in something divine.

Goosebumps listening to this theme. Matching perfectly with the mysterious and powerful of his ultimate form. The music actually reminds me a bit of Buddhism Music. Considering the 4 emotional demons, I guess Upper 4 had once a monk or somewhat similar in his human life. Epic!!!

Wow..i wasn't expecting to hear this standalone soundtrack..thanks! I simply love the pairing of the music with an aura of monks chantings at the appearance of Zohakuten. It felt like there was a great divine struggle of good vs evil in that somber tune..
