One tip, running the engine up to temperature before draining the oil will help with drain it faster/completely. Good diy video!

Each J channel has a side with open slots for screws. You just put that edge against the inside of the fascia and I just used 3 screws for each section. Look at the other videos in the playlist. There’s a bunch!

@@naturaljah100It’s ok but I really don’t have any plans for it. I took some 1 x 2 pieces of wood, laid them around a piece of J Channel and built the track. Then drilled the hole for at end (same size as the bulb (12mm). I then measured back 2.5” and put the dowel. The issue is that I had to sand down the dowel to 12mm because I couldn’t find one that size.

Looks a great solution but mine doesn't behave! I don't think my OPEN button slides down as much as yours so all the number buttons are totally resistant to any pressure. Any further ideas please?

I like your video the only problem is that you didn’t tell me how to set the new combo, but that is what I need to do. My lock is brand new but no instructions how to set the combo. This is the closest I got to get any answers. Thank you in advance.

The component that fried is a surface mount resistor. It's the same style as the R250 resistor beside it. The value is almost readable through the gray ash. It's the same as a normal through hole resistor just pcb surface mounted. Looks like trace J5-5 got overloaded somehow. 2 resistors right next to each other like that is usually a voltage divider that steps down the voltage but it can only handle a certain amount. Therefore it likely was overvolted somehow and blew the resistor divider. Lightning strike?

It’s possible but don’t recall any storm. It could have been the solenoid that died, it could have shorted.

There’s nothing you can do. If you can’t reset it, it’s would be difficult to push in the combo.

See if there is a “menu” or “settings” option. Newer models have a settings menu that you have to go through.

You need to make sure your segments are saved with each preset. If not, then it will keep resetting when you try to play your playlist.

ATTENTION before doing this on the doorman replacement and breaking it please file down that tab with a round file and it will slip right in. Been there broke two of them

Can't tell you how many times I referred to this diagram for my own setup, thank you. Ended up splitting the 230 AC power and getting a second 5v PSU to power the relay. Main reason to get a relay was the 12v meanwell PSU had horrible coil whine and this solves it.

I am a licensed locksmith and I encounter these often. Many times the customer forgot the combination. Now instead of having to destroy the box to get the key I can use this trick. I actually had a few laying around in my shop with no known combo and I was able to open them using this trick. Worked perfectly. Thank you!
