I’m a total introvert.. I’m happy never leaving my apartment or never seeing a human being! Humans are draining and the worse

I understand you 100%. I'm currently in the process of "reacclimatize" myself to humans lol. People can be draining at times, and if you are put into an environment with toxic people, that's no bueno and you'll eventually associate people with negative experiences (which is probably what we both have in common). But I'm starting to learn that people is also necessary to live a healthy and happy life, through community, and supportive, understanding close group of friends. This is something I'm working towards, undoing those damages, including the traumas we've had as a child that led us to associate people with negative experiences. ❤️

Hi Andrew, congrats on making another great video!! Just a small piece of advice from my own perspective, I think if you can keep still a bit more, you will deliver a better presence. You can get the idea if you try to play your video at a 1.5x speed (I am not sure how many people consume videos in this way like me). Anyway, you are doing a great job! Absolutely love it 💗

I'm still insanely nervous when I make videos, but this whole youtube thing is giving me a good challenge. Thanks again for your meaningful feedback! Hope you're doing well, and I appreciate you, take care! ❤️

In hindsight I think it would’ve been the more logical thing to do. But because I was so deep in my burnout I just couldn’t think logically. I was in a constant agony of panic attacks and anxiety. Having said that though, I’m just so glad I was able to listen to my body and did the right thing (for me). My “quitting” sequence could have been more “optimized”, but in the grand scheme of things, I have zero regrets and full of gratitude. Hope you’re doing well!

I've went through the same thing as well (minus the "not giving notice"). I listened to my body and had to leave. My mental health thanked me. I'm also happy I was not the only one that left a job because of stress. In my 20s/30s I would usually have something lined up as well but as stress grew, my body can't take it anymore.

Hey there, I can sympathize with your sentiment about the direction we’re heading. However, I think it’s also an opportunity to share the message to remind people out there of the important things in life; that it is not all about the materialistic things, or social status, or money/greed. It is also why I’m finding it very fulfilling to share my message and journey! I made a video recently about how taking sabbaticals changed my life, maybe it can give you some perspectives as well (and restore some hope in humanity). I hope you can look forward to some of the more hopeful things in life, as imperfect as life can be, there are pockets of beauty and humanity out there! Take care, and be kind to yourself ❤️

@andrewxu

Hey there, I don’t foresee myself going back to the tech scene anytime soon. While I enjoy many aspects of the job (as a software engineer), I don’t think my values align with what is needed to “survive” or “thrive” in that industry. For now, I’m finding a lot of fulfillment making videos on KZfaq to help people, through sharing my journey towards a simple life, and personal finance/financial independence, so I’m pursuing this path. Hope you’re doing well and take care! Remember be kind to yourself! ❤️

I love you - It is obvious you are genuine and grateful. Don’t apologize for living your best life and helping those who are willing to listen. You are SIGNIFICANT. I already predicted you are going to make it big, and are bringing us along which I very much appreciate, and yes life is an experiment. You are rich in integrity, wisdom, courage, self-awareness, creativity, and humility. The financial freedom you HAVE achieved through simple living. Keep dong what you are doing. You’ve got this! I’m so grateful to have crossed paths with you when your channel is in it’s infancy, because I am a witness to the exponential growth you are at the cusp of achieving. The best things in life can not be purchased but give us the power to choose what we do with your limited time on this earth. One can be simultaneously a good person, and rich in every way- emotionally, physically, spiritually, intellectually, AND financially. WE are that community, as long as we have the courage to do the things that scare us and stop seeking everyone else’s approval. We all know what is right. DO that, and BE that. If we fall off the proverbial bicycle of life, we simply get up, dust ourselves off, and hop back on. Great job, Andrew! BRAVO! I may just be one of your biggest fans. Simple Living movement -Here we come! 👏

I love that we're getting more of these candid discussions about life and burnout in the industry. Been seeing more and more people willing to talk about it in the wake of the pandemic. I know you don't attribute your burnout to the pandemic, and thats probably true, but I do think there's this sense of needing to vent and let go of something now that we're "back to normal". For myself I never really felt burnout DURING the pandemic, I just buckled down and worked my ass off. It's only post-pandemic that I've had a chance to pause and reflect and realize - holy shit, I've given my entire young adult life to my career and I think, I think I need to re-evaluate my priorities.

hey David, I'm glad you're recovered and have a different outlook in life! It's all about finding that balance, life is short. A lovely elderly couple I ran into (by fate I think) taught me a life lesson that I constantly remind myself even now: "There's no need to rush, we'll get there eventually". To me, this means that life is short, and we'll all end up in that same place sooner or later, rather than rushing to this inevitable "ending", enjoy it while we still can with good health. You can find an image I took with them on my video about "how taking sabbaticals changed my life" if you're curious! Hope you're doing well, be kind to yourself!
