While using sticks, spin while pulling, maximizing square inches of the stick. This takes practice, start by spinning maximum 90 degrees.

He said it was designed to be big and roomy. I just got this tent, had to go to another channel to figure out setup SINCE THE TENT CAME WITH NO DIRECTIONS! Anyway this big roomy thing is cramped as hell. I'm 6'4" and feet and head poke into the ends EVEN THOUGH THE STATED LENGTH IS 84" which last I checked using the trusty calculator on my smartest phone turns out to be 7 feet. So called grommets and attachment points are so weak. But ok I'll take this thing up to the Boulder Field on north face of Longs Peak before they rename that one something p.c. because some pansy got offended and wah wahed to the light in the loafers governor... and what was I saying, oh yeah, I'll give it a good test in some rough conditions to see if it can endure as well as my old Walrus tent( remember those? They built em so well you only had to buy 1 and that was it for 10 years.) But I'll have the Walrus along just in case.

Lol yeahhh I'm not using rocks and pine cones. Couple feet of TP, a wet wipe or two depending, and you're good to go.

Andrew rarely makes a mistake, but the order is to pour the noodles and water mix container into the seasoning container. Saves water and some clean-up.

My tent didn't come with stakes (I had to use stakes from another tent and bought some others at REI)! A resale? I tried it on a short REI guided overnight hike. I'd set my high route tent up in the back yard, so the overnight was my second time. I managed it ok both times, though somewhat awkward (I know it would get easier). Then the problems - we were camped on rocky soil and getting tent stakes into that was a real problem. Rocks were a decent back up. That night (early April in Maryland - got down to about 30 degrees with a wind) was cold, and because the tent is two separate pieces the wind came right in under the tent. My other problem is I am 6'6" and I barely fit in the thing. My head and feet were pushed into the mosquito net at both ends. I wouldn't much want to spend a day or two out on the trail in the rain in this thing. (the cold problem was worse because I didn't have a heavy enough bag - not the tent's fault). I like the idea of the tent, but so far like the idea better than the reality. I may get myself a two person free standing tent with poles and just deal with the extra weight for packing when I do my 250 mile through hike later in the summer.

I've found a freezedried Caribbean beans and rice mix in my big city grocery store. That might be a good alternative if refried beans not available.

I loved the video! Just a quick note. The McCarthy hitch looks to be a 2 to 1 advantage, not 3 to 1. Keep up the great work!

Given the 200,000 years of human destruction with hard to break down stuff. Cities. Junk. Nuclear bombs, trash. Easily decompostsble poop seems like a low priority. Let’s bury Wal Marts first.

It's hilarious how all these outdoor companies started putting black people in their advertisements, right after the George Floyd riots. The couple in the ad does not look like they camp. Just like the ones in the REI commercials hiking did NOT look like they ever hiked a day in their lives. At least find some paid actors that look the part!

I have 2 of these, the 40/60 and the 60/75 and thought that they were fantastic until I noticed wear and holes in the pack. The waist belt has a stiff edge that cuts into the pack at the point where the lumbar pad is fitted. This wears a hole in the pack. I have contacted SD but as yet no response which has been disappointing. Don't rely too much on the online chat either, 15 mins into the chat the agent left the office for an hour without telling me, just left me hanging.... Then came back and said she would email be. 3 days later still no response.

I am currently on your online chat where your customer service person said she would look into it, that was of now 44 minutes ago and still no further response.

Customer online chat service agent got back to me after over an hour to say she went out of the office for an hour. Did not pre warn me. Not a thought to let me know so I did not keep hanging on. Thats the level of customer service you aspire too? She said she would respond to my email, no surprise, still no response
