@Vityasviri yes, I'm using it right now on Cowlitz river for steelhead and just missed one..it's important to be small, midascul, they won't hesitate to strike something smaller..

To be clear, saltaway is presented as a product good for engine flushing at end of the year!! These vidoes are exactly why you should not! Shops and sellers in our area push saltaway as the flushing goto..then boom, overheating because no one ever said you Need to use something different to actually prevent build up of salt and other stuff...So why use saltaway inside an engine at??? Don't waste your time, use it for surface cleaning and flush with something that works like Rydlyme,,,why I chose Rydlyme,,,our navy counts on it...no on̈e is in the sea water more than them except the fish.

@Chris-fo8wp Not comparing anything, call up a boat shop, go to them and ask what to flush with...you will be told saltaway as if it's an application that works all year and all you ever need..engines over heating all over the place from not flushing with the correct products..I have asked many boat mechanics what to use with, all say the same, it's fine for cleaning surfaces and rinse offs, but not what there pushing...It's called job security..this Is washington state, maybe other states boat shops are better. NOT THIS ONE, you can't even buy it here, nor the stuff you said. It's sad, used motor buyers should use this to flush until the Ph is same In As coming out, then it's ready to hit water and not overheat...That's why I'm making these videos,,,literally helping people stop getting in a bad situation from profits and greed.

As far as reliability goes why flush an engine at all with saltaway??? It only clean out one thing and leaves the rest...like wiping a turd with a paper towel and thinking it's clean now... it needs to be flushed,,so does the turd. 😮

@plumbjitsu7097 I use the egg smell closer to September and Oct November. When salmon have had time to lay eggs,,earlier in the season use the sand shrimp or craw dad smells..the craw dad and shrimp smell seems to be good year around..they will always mouth and kill predators to there young eggs.

@thereelavery6801 I'm making a video on a shot pattern, I usually use bigger up higher and go smaller as you get lower. Depends on how deep the water, and long the leader is as well as your main weight...all in combination with the bait has to be equal to the bobbers best setting. So it varies. Get a mixed size bin and use large to small.

When I started using it, I called, the marine part is just a separate section or company devision as they released the different uses it had, but is the same as the RYDLYME biodegradable, If I remember, but you can call them and check.I am not positive, normally I would check, before I respond with an I am sure. I will call them again and verify as well, if your not sure when using it, dilute is some more and go 3 to 1. And rinse with clean water if you're not sure.

I’m glad you’re putting videos out again. Hope to see you out on the river again! For anyone reading this. Steve’s method a work. I ran into Steve opener day. After few hours of not hooking anything. Steve showed me what I did wrong and I was bringing fish after fish to the point I had constantly had to change my hook to make sure I had a good hook up, .

Nice content, thanks for sharing. Question: I have the app FishWashington, how accurate is that app in terms of open dates for fishing and which section of the river is open for fishing? Just wondering if you are using that app. Also, I have heard from people about Nisqually River, that the public place by railroad bridge is belongs to military base now, and if parked, you may get a ticket. Have you heard anything about it, or maybe it's just a rumors. Thank you.

Any update after a year? do you flush with rydlyme after every use? do you have a video of a shorter/daily flush instead of a 24hr flush? Also I've seen others remove the lower unit to force flush with rydlyme is that not needed for your outboard? Mine looks similiar but its a 2003 merc efi.

No not after every use, I would once a year, replace thermostats every 2 years. There cheap, but can break you down in the water. I don't t remove lower end on this, one, it was used when I purchased it, and I want to be sure all build up is gone in all water ways, including the lower unit where the water does circulate.the impeller should allow flow, through the system, this engine has lower water ports on each side I wanted cleared. Any blockage anywhere can cause a over heat issue. Always run it and rinse good after a flush with clean water. I use a full water bin not ear muffs too.

Haha, I have made many videos since this one.. I have lowered volumes if or when I do use it now. As well as type of video. This is a how-to video and most of them will not have music at all. Mostly in fishing under water scenes or fish on scenes. The point was and is definitely salt away won't be a cure all, and a flush with a. Acid style cleaner to flush is the best way to keep your engine clean. Thanks for feed back.

This will work on vehicle heater cores too! Save your self the time with Rydlme1st then if its still no heat its not your heater core as it will be flowing fully after flushing with this! before puling out a heater core assembly!

HI, @everyone, If you flush with Rydlyme and not Salt a Way you will be able to completely clean out the entire engine. DID YOU KNOW YOU CAN AND WILL LITTERALLY KNOW IF THERE IS ANY BUILD UP IN THE ENGINE (all of the engine) BY READING A SIMPLE PH TOOL! And to clean the entire engine just flush with the correct product. All that buildup of scale and salt deposits are also down in the blocks and heads water jackets so poking at it or scrapping just some of it won’t be anything but a temp fix.. I have built a self flushing system or even rinsing with Rydlyme instead of Salt A Way will clean the inside of all your water jackets! Fact: you can measure PH to determine if your engines block, thermostats, pop valves, rubber gaskets, heads ports, water jackets and anywhere that water flows, have any build up in them!!! This means if you get a used motor, you can flush and read the levels of PH and now when the engine is like new inside! If you buy it from a dealer, they should have done this for you if they are good at maintaining engines and selling quality testing equipment. Ask what they flush with and that will tell you if it’s a safe motor fully cleaned. SALT A WAY DOES NOT DO THIS, “CAUTION” IT MAY ONLY DISLODGE BUT NOT DISOLVE BUILD UP OF SCALING, CAUSING MORE DAMAGE AS IT DOES NOT BREAK DOWN SCALLING THATS HELD ONTO THE WALLS BY SALT. ONCE THE SALT IS GONE OR MELTED TO A GOO IT WILL ALLOW THE STUFF IT DOES NOT BREAK DOWN TO CLOG VITAL TOOLS IN YOUR ENGINE LIKE WATER TEMP CONTROLL (THERMOSTATES, POP OFF VALVES, SENSORS) LEADING TO MAJOR DAMAGE OR INJURY OR DEATH IF IT BREAKS ON THE WATER AT THE WRONGE TIME. I have 3 videos Ep1 is the test Rydlyme against Salt A Way head to head cleaning test,,Rydlyme has unreal results, Ep2 is how to build an enclosed self-pumping 24hr or less flush kit for under 150 bucks. Ep3 Is how to flush with Rydlyme, the most important part you can read the water and Rydlyme mix and tell if its cleaning the engine or not! THAT MEANS YOU WILL LITTERALLY KNOW IF THERE IS ANY BUILD UP IN THE ENGINE BY READING A SIMPL PH TOOL! When Rydlyme breaks down corrosion build up it changes the level of PH to a higher number, so just flush until what goes in is coming out and its is clean, so if the Rydlyme mixture is reading at 1.3 going in the engine and then reading at 2.9 coming out that means its breaking down and eating the build up inside your engine all of it, not just the head but also down in That block!!! This was before it was closed, Of coarse, before I even owned a GoPro! They haven't opened it for years now, was a good place to take my disabled daughter to fish, but not anymore. People have ruined that. you could watch any video posted and go ask that question as they are closed at sometime!

I tried Saltaway first, and Rydlyme one week after. Rydlyme for the win. The gunk out of my motor was crazy after an entire day of flushing using an 1100gph bilge pump with Rydlyme. I think Saltaway is only good straight after you pull the boat from the water.

Yes, exactly and it's misrepresented as a build up resolution, outside boats it's fine,,you can see if you missed a spot, inside a very expensive motor or buy a used boat guessing if it will clog and overheat,, this resolves used motor purchase reliability..lol

My motor never overheated, I replaced the thermostats, waterpump etc. I flushed religiously in fresh water. Then one day, it threw an overheat alarm at high RPM.. Which was enough for me to first try Saltaway and then Rydlyme. I only wish Rydlyme was easier to locate and sold at boating/marine shops, the way Saltaway is. It's since done a long trip, sustained high RPM and no overheat. I will always advocate now for Rydlyme to other boat owners.

I'm planning to try and work with them..its not even at boat shows..its seems like many industry scams to keep boat motors in shops... Imagine how many hundreds of thousands a month, world or state wide just in the US that go to mechanics good and bad tearing down engines to the blocks to try and scrape the corrosion out and clear the water jackets in the blocks and head...an absolute scam or ignorance all-around the entire state of wa, and many other places...some people just don't know, yet, and that's why I'm making this channel to help educate people and share.

@@steveperdueshowtofishingti2172 I called my boat mechanic, right after I'd had a big service done (and also incidentally, after the overheat) and he suggested taking the heads off to clean the water jackets. In his defence, he did say you could try Saltaway first, which I did before finding out about Rydlyme. Agreed, there are so many people who would take the engine apart to clean the water jackets, in the process snapping bolts and costing way more in terms of labour. I'm so pleased about Rydlyme, it's just costly, and hard to locate. But the cost IS cheaper than manual labour taking the engine apart though, so that's something to keep in mind.

Absolutely, I have caught many..you can also use a no 1 hook, and next size up cheater 10. Float a little higher, chum are big and higher off bottom..but both will work.

Saltaway is a detergent and corrosion inhibitor. You're using it wrong. It would have needed to be used before it got so bad to prevent it from doing so!

@testboga5991 haha,, son we should let the US marine mechanics know that they can use salt away in stead of rydlyme. if you use salt a way it will not clean scaling, which will build up even when using salt a way!! That is why they use rydlyme. 2nd if you have a used motor, and boat you bought, what you going to do use salt away based on that, not everyone buys a brand new boat and motor, and even then again, salt build up is different than build up corrosion. 3rd if you have a used motor, you can use a meter and flush till pH is going in same as coming out a d know for sure the inside of the heads and block are clear, 100%...so basically sure use salt away on your brand new boat and motor. But it still won't clean all of it,,nor will you be able to use a meter to make sure it's clear and clean. Those thermostats soaked for 40 minutes and look like shit in saltaway...lol..go ahead and use it..I will not.

I have watched and taken over 39 people this last 2 mo. And no not everyone knows how to detect the mouthing of the bait or line if flossed. Even with so call flossing you still need to learn how to detect the interaction with the fish..flossing is something that happens its. We use scents and small set that looks like a fly,,,I have many videos coming out where this so call just flossing set up has the hook buried on the back of the tongue just like when I use eggs. You always catch more fish,, if you don't understand this watch ep 1 green river,,where I am catching ma y fish that end up flossing. And some are bit. Just because it can floss does not mean fish won't grab an egg smelly egg float. Just like with a bobber.. detect the bite or mouthing interaction.

How long would this be good for in a cold fridge? My husband made a batch last winter and passed away before using most of it. I found it recently in the back of the garage fridge and wondered if it would still be worth using.

Sorry for your loss, hard to say. If he used sodium nitrite, they could be good for 5 to 6 mo. Without out it they will start to go bad and get mold.
