BIG QUESTION what do you think happens if time moves differently for me while I travel fast around a black hole and watch the earth through a super awesome telescope (seeing my friends moving at a slow pace) but when I arrive they actually aged faster than me so at what point in my telescope or vision would I see things speed up and surpass my proper time? I'm very glad you did post this video. As a disillusioned postdoc stuck in an endless loop of writing hollow research papers to get grants that retread work already done decades earlier (with a fresh coat of the latest buzzword added); all the while trying to make ends meet on a salary you wouldn't need to go to school for in the first place, with no job security and my mental health destroyed; I feel happy to know there are ways out of this wretched system. Talking about H5N1 is fine for a science communicator but amplifying Eric Feigl-Ding is an error in judgement. Feigl-Ding is an alarmist with no background in viral epidemiology (his degrees and background are in nutrition). He has consistently put out misinformation about a variety of diseases - he is eagerly alarmist about everything. He pushed hard the idea that monkeypox was a pandemic that would kill 1 in 10 people. Remember monkeypox? How it decimated every society on the planet? No? He’s equally alarmist on every new COVID variant, strain of flu, you name it - and he always recommends the most extreme, unscientific responses to them. He won’t drink pasteurized milk? He actually is a nutritionist so he should know that pasteurized milk is completely safe - we needed PCR to detect viral *fragments* in milk. But screaming fire at every new bit of disease news is his grift.

In Illinois the wildfires with burnout all the soft maples that prevented the hardwood seedlings from getting enough hours of daylight to grow to maturity.
