The Swimming Dragon is not usual in the Chen style Tai Chi school. Rather it is more frequently practiced as a complementary exercise in the Yang school.

Hello again Maestro. We walk 5 kms a day in the mountains near me and dance tango 6 hours a week. Combined these workouts tighten my hamstrings which in turn tighten my calves. As well, my tight hamstrings tend to pull on my SI joints often pulling one or both out causing recurring lower back and hip trouble. Traditional stretches using forward bends on the floor (yoga and or pilates) don't suit my spinal problems as these types of exercises often produce injuries. Do you know of a series of Tai Chi or Chi Gong.sequences that could address this peculiarity? I would greatly appreciate a video on this potential subject.

Dear Michael, for your needs you should stretch the posterior muscles of the legs and back lightly and continuously. I already offer suitable exercises in my stretching programs, but I make a note to plan a suitable routine in the future.
