This is so awesome. Over a decade ago I Let's Played this horror game with a friend on our joint channel. She had the German version which made it even worse since the translation was beyond any grammar rules and completely lacking any sense of language. Yet, we managed to accomplish the second best ending and were quite satisfied with that. Thanks for all the insights, for nearly two hours of exquisite entertainment, and congrats to all your friends who are terrific voice actors. ♥♥♥

The King's Quest III remake by AGD Interactive makes this game much easier to run.

One of my favourite parts of a speedrun history is when the community learns about a game’s sequence breaks, and how the run loses minutes as a result. The FM Towns bit is genuinely really interesting.

Isn't there a better shortcut than f3 to bring up the last thing you typed or am I thinking of a later KQ game
@OneShortEye2 күн бұрын
F3 is the only command that works in this game. Starting in King's Quest 4, you could also press the spacebar.

This game was ahead of its time, settings for less mobile people, representation, choices with consequences, it had it all

One of the greatest videos ever made in KZfaq. Never played the game btw. I wish we could have retrospectives of this quality of any 90's game.

I never knew about this game but the look and feels of the game is amazing. I could only imagine how happy I would be if I played this when I was a kid, this looks exactly like those type of game I enjoyed.

does anyone ever run the AGD Interactive remakes of the games? (1-3)
I'll never be this vaccinated. I'll have to just settle for getting sex and money like a loser.

This is a fantastic video! I also have been way into this game for thirty years and only in the last couple had the chance to play it again via GOG and SCUMMVM. We bought it on 5.25” floppies back in the 1990s (only version Waldensoftware had in stock) and when they wore out a couple years later, Sierra had already discontinued the game and could not replace our disks. But I’ve been telling my wife and daughter for years how crazy branchy this game is for its time. It’s a real gem! Thanks for this exhaustive discussion!

I remember playing this one whe i was 8 or so. I couldn't figure out the archery training thing, so i wandered the entire map looking for something else to do. There isn't anything, but you can go down to the pub in town and get busted by the guards, which keads to a funny game over dialogue. Unfortunately, thats where i gave up and stopped playing.

Such a cool video. I'd love to see a new one about all the stuff that's been discovered in the years since... considering the record is now 10:24, which is three minutes shorter than it is at the end of the video. In any case, very cool video, very well done, super interesting stuff!

I played this as a kid when it was released and it was pretty fun to explore but incredibly difficult. Still my favorite in the series. They managed to make the world seem epic. I never beat the game until I found a walkthrough. Which was printed out on a dot matrix printer of course back then.

I still haven't finished the original video, I stopped watching when you said there would be spoilers ahead because I wanted to actually play the game for myself. I'm definitely glad I did because this game is great, I had so much fun streaming it to friends on Discord. The effort they put in that well is so cool, I have to do a second playthrough sometime. I didn't get 'super sleuth' on my first run but I did manage to discover all of the bodies on my first playthrough, I also found the entrance to the secret cellar but it's too dark to actually enter, so still missing something there I suppose. You likely mentioned it in the other video, but my favourite thing I discovered on my own is that you are able to try to "kiss" everyone in the game, including animals and corpses, and they all have unique reactions from Laura.

I would say the person who died from putting his head into a particle accelerator stream counts as a laser, just not one in the visible range. And thus, a deadly invisible laser, like in the game.
