A lotta money for plastic. Makes no sense. Producers take customers for suckers, which they, obviously are.

I recently upgraded from a Bianchi Sempre 2014 to one of these. Unbelievable how it holds its speed on the straights. I'll look down at the speedo and it will be holding 42k no problem

There's absolutely no need to have clipless pedals. It's been proven many times they don't help much if at all. So it's the matter of personal choice, nothing more.

Bicycle prices are a scam, if you look at the prices of motorcycles, they have much more components and are still cheaper than a lot of bicycles.

Any chance you'll be doing a review of the Magene PES 505 power meters anytime soon? By far they seem like thee most value for money power meters available on the market today.

i switched to some more ofroad tires on my bicycle with the idea of abit better drivability on some short patches of gravel , it did not help with the gravel ridint as much but extra thread on tire sure to help protect inner tube from geting punctured. i bought continental tires for like 50 euros for both

I've bought Trek FX 2 Disc 2023. edition with 2x9 drivetrain for about 750 € and I'm very satisfied! This Trek has quite high buildt quality for the price and it performs great! After one and a half months of riding it I can say this is so good bike! It has very smooth shifting, handles perfectly on paved roads but also at some light to moderate gravel paths and it has great comfort for the most part. Only minor issue for me is that handle grips could of been more comfortable with slightly better shock absorption. But these can be easily changed. I'm using this bike predominantly for training several days each week and some joyride and cruising throughout city. My typical routine is 15-20 or more kilometers per ride on mostly flat terrain.

Maybe it's because I only got into cycling 2 years ago but I like the aesthetic of disc brakes comoared to rim brakes.

I would never want a disc break on any of my bikes to be completely honest. I know how they work, even had to take them apart many years ago on school. But still, never ever have my rim breaks snapped on a mountain bike or race bike. However multiple have on old city bikes but that is because of no maintenance and water getting into the lines. While disc breaks may be lower in maintenance, it does not hold up because if you leave your bike outside in the rain every night. Rust will get into the lines and your lines will snap at some point... Not only that, the most important part are easily replaceable and how cheap it is. I can replace the blocks for only €5.99 while a replacement off one disc break puts me back €300 at the cheapest. There is no competition because the users, the bikers themself have already voted, rim breaks it is. It is just that people who never drive a bike are trying to sell us something heavily overpriced, as always. I wouldn't call a bike beautiful, it works, gets the job done, it doesn't get ugly if you see cables. It is just that we stepped one step forward just to fall of the stairs, and here we are uglier as ever.

Love mine. Don't think cost or comfort would be any different than a pure road bike or a Roubaix-style endurance bike. Carbon bars, and wider, tubeless tires and a 3D seat does it for me. 60mm front and back helps with speed going up the wind. YMMV.

Great bike! Back in the day, we climbed (and descended) alpine passes on similar things. The only thing I would not be happy about was the one you mentioned - carbon wheels with rim brakes. If only you could find open 4 CD rims again! Although Shimano Ultegra level wheels from the 00's were really good and bomb proof.

Um… Pros most definitely use saddle bags. Not while racing, because they have a crew. Saddle bags are one of the absolute best accessories.

Just bought a TCR Disc 1 Pro / it was on sale and also was at a bike shop I could test ride it / Canyon - love the colorways and the single headpiece cockpit and the horizontal top tube / Have been looking for someone to convince me I made the wrong purchase but it sounds like TCR Is an overall better bike than Ultiimate and It came with Ultegra groupset as opposed to the 105 / I'm just not a fan of the sloping top tube, two piece head set and colorway -- rides really well so far and couldn't say much about the weight difference from TCR to Ultimate

Would have loved if you compared to the Giant TCR _ just picked up one recently. Shifting to a more complete racing bike from my old school commuter. But not in love with the slanted top tube. Love the ultegra group set but not sure if I need all of that so soon. Love German engineering and this Ultimate looks and feels more my style completely

Summary for Road Bicycles: Carbon Fiber: STIFFEST. The choice for high-performance and racing bikes due to its exceptional stiffness-to-weight ratio and customizable ride qualities. Steel: STIFF. Great for comfort and durability, ideal for touring, commuting, and endurance riding. Titanium: LESS STIFF. Offers an excellent balance of comfort, performance, and durability, suitable for high-end touring and endurance bikes. Aluminum: LEAST STIFF. Lightweight and affordable, popular for entry-level to mid-range road bikes and racing.

Road bikes have been getting heavier because the current narrative is aero>weight. Fine. But, we've seen all this before. Everything is now going to chase lighter weight but be backwards incompatible. It's a never ending spiral.

I have a 2014 Evo build that I recently put together. It was 2021 when parts were still hard to find and everything was insanely expensive. The goal was to build a 12lb bike for under $5k that could be ridden every day. It was built with The 11 speed red group and weighed in at 12.8 lbs with pedals, 2 bottle cages, power meter, and garmin mount. (this was with a pair of DT tubular wheels and tires) With a set of Giant SLR 0 wheels and tubeless tires It comes in at under 12.5. It also rides as good as most modern bikes save for the disc brakes and lack of aero shape.

I can get that much areo just by taking two spacer out from under 99% of folks 2014 C-dale stem. PS for sure everything will get more proprietary because the cycling sheeple will keep buying disposable crap. All the marketing depts have to do is jack up the price to make it appear move "valuable"

Carbon fibre has been recycled for years now and to recycle it back into a state of which it can be re used is a process thats almost self sufficient. It leaves a fibre ready to be used in like how the forged finish. I’ve even a video from the factory doing it
