Great video and review on the Samyang 14mm f 2.8 lens. I recently came across your channel as i also purchased this lens for Astrophotography Milkyway images this works well with my cannon eos 6d camera which still preforms very well despite being twelve years old.

maybe the newer Z 70-180 2.8 could be an option combined with the TC 1.4x or TC 2x.

If you have to aggressively crop images, then it's time for some new lenses...

I have just changed to the Kase magnetic filter system and I'm now finding that I'm more likely to use the filters because of the simplicity of fitting to the lens. Highly recommend this magnetic system.

Yes, D850 a super camera. I use two bodies for my wildlife photography mainly in Srilanka for Birds , Elephants, Sloth Bears and of course for for the lsland's leopard photography. One body with prime 400mm f 2.8 and other for all the zoom lenses takes stunning images. A super DSLR in every way . Good heavy duty camera matches with the lenses. 👍❤

Honestly, the "I cant afford it" argument is not something I find useful. If you say the lens has flaws or it does not fit your needs or you have found better options: yes, okay, get it. But just because of financial restrictions? Why not start making videos about why you are not getting the Bugatti Chiron, a private jet, that one private island etc. So I personally did not find this video helpful or useful in any way.

Your argument is completely invalid the thing is Nikon 100 to 400 compared to tamron is way more expensive it's not many photographer cannot afford they can because they know what they are into it is just more expensive for what it is

I love James Brew's videos. I bought Nikon 24-120 f4, after I saw his video. He convinced me! Interesting. Now I have to buy the device. Z6iii when will it appear!

5:03 I was about to suggest just that. I use the EF version on my Z7 with the Fringer adapter and it works perfectly. The lens is great. What most people don't realize: at these long focal lengths in landscape photography, image sharpness is more or less a function of weather and atmospheric quality (dirt/dust, haze, heat reflections etc.) rather than the lens itself. I also use the EF 16-35 f4 L on my Z7. The one lens that is mostly glued to my Z7 is the Z 24-120, that is the reason I bought the Z7. Because I wanted to use that lens. My Z7 cost me around USD1,100 in excellent condition. What a steal that was.

Sorry James.....why are you criticising and blaming tourists for getting in your shot.....? Its a public beach............... I can assure you 15 years ago when I was last there, zero tourists. Are you not the problem, via KZfaq and social media. Few places are now secret........ Having said that, I like what you have shot so far.......its good coverage.

That's what I want to get it for but I'm still nervous. But lately I've been practicing more landscapes and I shoot everything. No less than F5. I've been doing like f7 to f11 but I think if I do get the F4 that'll be great to even shoot at that aperture. Right now I just use my 35 mm for landscapes. That's all I have with the 85 until I build up my lens collection again

I use my old trusty d850s with nisi 150x170mm grads , you can under expose the sky by 3 -5 stops and lift the foreground in camera using nikon D lighting , great if you hate being stuck behind a laptop , when simple in camera tweeks are plenty

Good luck on the "faster glass" option. I bought the 28-300 for a D850 because my (2) f2.8 lenses are very heavy. Yes, they are sharp, but i can shapen the superzoom and not have back problems.
