It’s nice to see a video where the drivers are using patience, finesse and skills rather than the common scenario of zero common sense and the “pin it to win it” attitude. Don’t get me wrong there are those RARE moments when that applies . And thanks for a video with no swearing, I’m showing my Grand kids these videos to give them more exposure to what they’re gonna do with me when they get older . Keep up the good work.

Thank you posting this! I am so torn. I really really want the better ride from Schmidty springs. Just do not want the extra ride height over stock. Spoke with Tyler at Schmidty and he swears the extra ride height is not a problem. Im concerned about axels and losimg rock crawling capabilities as long as the machine becoming more tippy! You mentioned you lowered yours, but Schmidty says they designed them to run at the higher height. With you lowering them lower than their recommendation are you losing some of their intended performance? Also worth noting when I explained to tyler my height concern he didnt mention that I can or should lower it. Wonder why he left that part out?
@sledsandsxs1376Ай бұрын
I was never really concerned with the extra ride height as the rmax4 is already very tall and too heavy stock, the reason we set ours lower knowing that we we going to sacrifice performance was the axle angles, at the time we shot this video, axles we’re next to impossible to get and there were no aftermarket support yet,I already had one clicking pretty bad and didn’t want to break one and be down for an unknown amount of time. Now that axles are pretty much readily available I’m probably going to adjust it to schmidtys recommendations for this riding season, I love the schmidty springs, they are game changers for the rmax platform!

How’s the shocks holding up? Thinking this setup or therapy’s. I’m running a rmax sport and my back preload springs are like yours just flat as a pancake. Plus looking to smooth out St. Helen whoops for me
@sledsandsxs13764 ай бұрын
They’re holding up great so far! Feel the same as the day I put them without any adjustments, you should have better results with your sport because of the better shocks from the factory, if I remember right, the sports have more adjustability which will with tuning, by far my biggest complaint with the rmax was how horrible the stock suspension is! I went with the schmidty kit because I felt it was a better, more complete kit.

Nice job on the trail riding footage. If you need to drop the seat height in these machines your gonna need a side mounted bucket seat like a sparco evo (might have trouble seeing over the steering wheel). I think most suspension seats raise your seating height and you loose out on that rally car feel.
@sledsandsxs13764 ай бұрын
Thanks! I think he lowered the seat as far as possible, pretty sure he gonna get a lsk weld together kit to replace the one that on it.

I just bought a 23 RMAX 1000 2 xtr so I am trying to learn all I can about them do all RMAXs have the front and rear lockers . and if you go to larger tires will they void you transmission warranty because I bought a extra 5 yr warranty
@sledsandsxs13765 ай бұрын
Anytime you add parts, your giving a warranty company an easy excuse to void any claims in the future, if your worried about that keep the stock setup and bolt those on anytime it needs to go in for service, the rear is locked all the time, and the front can be locked and unlocked with the diff lock switch
@JeffreyJohnston7245 ай бұрын
I was wondering why you think a RMAX 2 seat would do better then a 4 seat they look about the same as far as wheel spacing as far as I can tell oit looks like the difference is one has a dump bed and tthe other has seats instead and from what I know they have the same power train
@sledsandsxs13765 ай бұрын
The 2 seaters have 2 more inches of suspension travel in the rear, the rear seat on the rmax4 limit travel because your basically sitting on the shocks!

Not sure why manufacturers don't have an option of either 4stroke or 2stroke engines for SxS

Honestly, I was not impressed. I'm not sure if it's the 4 seater or the difference between the woops but I hit woops twice the size with my LE at 40+ mph and it handles it no problem with stock LE shock set up on firm. I will say most people do get nervous pushing it that hard, but it doesn't get worse in the bucking before it gets better. You just have to send it hard enough and find the rhythm for that set of woops. I will be making a video soon. I want to do the schmidty PSM but I want to know if it will still handle my hard riding style. I have x3 telling me I'm going fast. I mean to me that saying something. Good video but I'm just not sold yet.

so this is a yamaha side by side with yamaha 1050 snowmobile motor im guessing a triple not a twin motor by the looks of the header on the motor so just wondering does that side by side have the stock transmission and the snowmobile motor bolts right up or was ther medications that had to be done to mate the motor to the transmission its a awesome machine its like its the way it should of been built right from the company
@sledsandsxs13767 ай бұрын
The factory 1000cc engine is a 3 cylinder, it’s basically a plug and play direct bolt in swap except for a tune, this one has a Mott’s tune in it, an extra 50cc doesn’t sound like much but from what I understand it really wake these up without spend insane money on a turbo kit, I have no idea the power difference from stock to this because this is the only one I’ve ever rode in. One things for sure, it RIPS!!

I was wondering since all suspension works better under acceleration (like motocross /trophy truck etc.) as soon as you slow down, not speed but but torque, is when it starts to pogo kick. Does the suspension have rebound or slow/high compression? I came across your video and think you've made huge improvements. Take care. And my comment was food for thought. Increase preloaded, increase compression increase rebound. Otherwise the suspension will pack and bottom out.
@sledsandsxs13769 ай бұрын
You can adjust spring preload but with the fox qs3 shocks you get very limited adjustability, just thre different setting to choose from, just the spring kit made huge difference, I think the rmax is alway going to pogo no matter what, getting it to be a lot less violent is about the best you can ask for, it’s still rear control which is not ideal for high speed running

I thought the 2019 plus Yxz engines are pretty much identical to the sidewinder engine. Especially now with the forged bottom end. They both tune and handle boost the same
@sledsandsxs13769 ай бұрын
It’s very possible, I’m not super familiar with the yxz platform, I do know the rear end is stronger, it’s a popular swap into the into the older versions, not sure what different but it has to be significant.
