this is really nice, great video. However, I thought they patched it so they would only breed if they were standing on actual ground. Did that get removed?

I was able to get some work benches hidden in the ground a few times. It was finicky, but I built two of the stone floors, put the bench on it. Then placed the large stone walls on top of the floors and that allowed the bench to stay inside. I was able to add terrain on top. Took a few tries though and in some spots it was impossible. I have a private forest now though.

I have a tip for any player: be overprepared for whatever boss fight you come across in this game! Max weapons and armor, cook your best food, and get the necessary potions! You'll thank yourself later, especially for the later bosses! Another thing: get a roaming portal (unnamed portal) that is in your base. That way, in a pinch, you can mark where you are and escape. If you die, it will allow you to retrieve your stuff much easier! All of these tips are great ones as well!

Hey! I just build this for the purpose of breeding boars and it works really well! I also build one for 1 star Wolves of these over a greydwarf spawner for infinite materials and it sorta works as well, the Wolf cubs do get stuck in the breeder, but you can just jump on them to push em through haha. Still hunting for a 2 star Wolf... 460+ hours in and I only ever saw 1 that for some reason ran away to the other side of the map lol

I love this so much!! I have built this on a server for myself, but am having difficulty with the copy/paste of your RTF into signs. Whenever I do it, it comes up as a square rather than a vertical rectangle so my "signs" aren't tall enough and they clip into each other. After a lot of troubleshooting, I'm coming here for help. Everything is turning out perfectly except for the shape of the sign when I hit enter. Edit: Still same issue, but I got something to work. :)

Oh, I wish I had found this last night! New player here, I was making a ramp and got the bumpy version, so in the end I put some 26° beams and roofing on top. It does work as a ramp, however the looks are not that great. Will redo it with your tips, thank you very much!

Just use Eikthyr buff to run around out of your base until the raid is done.

This game is boring as F !

The best base-defence is building on islands, period. I highly suggest going for a moderately sized island and simply building vertically if more room is needed. You should be able to build 3-4 stories quite easily. Just beware that you've got the entire area sufficiently covered with workbenches or other structures that prevents spawning. Also beware that islands close enough to the "mainland" can mean raids spawning on the neighbouring shores and then walking across on the bottom of the sea. Personally I never really build a base defence on my islands. I do the stuff mentioned above and can aim for a more aestetically pleasing look which really lifts the gaming experience for me. Fields I usually have in a different location if needed Eg. other islands and just make a portal to that place. As long as there are no players near it, no attacks will happen to the crops. I hope they change this specific thing in the future so the game feels more alive and incetivizes building a base at one location rather than min-maxing. EDIT: forgot to mention that bats and drake raids will still happen, but those are easy to handle. As long as you don't build your island base in the Fistlands biome you won't really see the What's up Gjall-raid either, thank god. That biome is so anti-player you should never aim to build there anyways.

I'm confused, why go through all this effort when a simple wooden wall around your base does the job fine? This is the first time I've even heard of someone having a problem against the NPCs, especially when you build in the first few zones. None of the mobs can even harm me anymore with my high level gear.

Best defense is to tame and breed hundreds of two star wolves. No other defenses needed. Until gjalls enter the picture of course lol.

Mine was level 2 but when I move my alter it reverted to level 1, why? I could not repllace the T2 because it vanished when I tried to pick it up and I did not log out.

Enemies damage not spreading out over multiple targets like yours does is mad dumb

Knowing the tames per area was helpful thank you and I can confirm 2 star wolves will stick around asking as you are in the area they seam to slow down eating at night like daylight slows their hunger, I tamed a couple no stars then got lucky a 2 star showed up near my pit when it became night and breed 2 stars into them then took the no stars to the less important place to defend

What kind of building mod are you using? I noticed that you are selecting items from your build menu but it doesn't look like you're running out of resources at all.

That bit about using inverted stairs to confuse and inhibit the enemy AI has me hearing Claptrap from Borderlands 2: "Stairs?!?! NNNNOOOOO!!!!"

I had a stone node merged into a copper one a few days ago. Once I mined all the piece the of the stone were connected to the ground the rest of it popped, even the bits inside the copper.

-I've never been able to get a whole copper node to pop at once until today. Didn't strike the node anywhere. Total copper ore 134. -It immediately went to another node and mined it a piece at a time. Total copper ore 140. I'm not sure if the time was the same for both, but they seemed to take about the same amount of time.

What actually made me quit the game for a year was the fact that I accidentally fell asleep while trying to tame 2 star wolves, and when I woke up my whole base had been destroyed.

The mobs will attack your torches just the same as the benches, your aesthetic adaptation does not protect them, can you address this?

I will say, the random raids are such a pain in the ass. They really serve no purpose other than to be incredibly annoying and frustrating to deal with. Especially with the way base building works in this game, it allows you to make some truly magnificent designs just for raids to topple them if you're not careful.
