That is not correct. All of the functions we show in this video are available for FREE in the app. You're talking about the *optional* Roland Cloud membership that gives you access to more songs and exercises. You don't have to be a Roland Cloud member (for around $30/yr at the time of this comment) to use the app. The Roland Piano App is completely free.

The "soundboard" feature on the NV5S is just a gimmick. It's just a big speaker with a transducer. There is no acoustic benefit because it doesn't have strings, it's not full-sized and it doesn't have any acoustic characteristics. The transducers attached transmit vibrations to the wood in the same way the transducers in a speaker send vibrations to the speaker cone/core. Kawai's "soundboard" is just a flashy way to do the same thing.

Hi and thanks for your question. The Roland Piano App ads those extra features to the FP-30 on up. We have never tested it on the FP-10. It is possible the FP-10 doesn't have the necessary hardware to support the additional features.

That all depends on how you setup your system. By default, the sound should come through your computer speakers. You'd have to change that if you wanted the audio from your computer to come out your Roland speakers.

No. Roland's Piano Reality Projection system breaks the sound up into parts and projects it through each speaker group automatically. There is no way to change that. The goal is to emulate a grand piano's acoustic performance and you can't do that with a grand piano. All you can do is customize the piano's performance.

The FP-60X doesn't have modeling (it uses sampling and has a much lower "resolution" sound). It also doesn't have the wood/resin keys (only resin). It has a smaller speaker system and amplifiers. Those are the biggest differences.

You can change its speed with the center pedal (with one of the optional 3-pedal systems) or... If you’ve selected a tone to which the rotary effect is applied, pressing the [Organ] button will switch the speed of the rotary effect.

That's really not the best comparison as they are in different categories. The N1X is a hybrid piano and the Roland LX-9 is a digital piano. The N1X doesn't have anywhere near the features, it has half the warranty, it requires maintenance, and it costs alot more. On paper, the Roland wins every time. ...but that may be misleading. Most of the N1X's expense is due to its all-wood grand piano action. If you're looking for a baby grand piano, but don't have space for one, the N1X is a great choice. it has the same action, but it uses a digital sound source. The Roland has a great action (with haptic feedback - which the N1X doesn't have), but it's not going to have the same feel. The Roland LX-9 should be compared to the Yamaha CLP-785. The N1X is an entirely different concept. That said, you should play both and see which one you like better.

Certainly, that is a matter of opinion. What I can say is that the GP-9 has longer keys with more leverage, higher resolution key sensors and haptic feedback (carrying acoustic vibrations back to your fingers). Whether or not you'll like it better is up to you, but (on paper at least) the GP-9 has better specs.

It's a "Silent Piano." It doesn't have speakers. If you want to attach powered speakers to it, you can, but then you might as well buy a "TransAcoustic Piano."

NO! ...and I recently played the NV5S. It did NOT feel good! Of course, this is just an opinion, but I thought it played like mud - VERY slow and unresponsive. So weird.

Where are you saving your recordings? The app can only record the MIDI notes you play, but it can't record backgrounds and it can't record audio. If you record onboard your piano with the USB flash drive, you can record MIDI or AUDIO and you can record backgrounds. You can also export those recordings. If you are saving MIDI files in the app, but you can't hear them when you play them back, I would recommend checking your piano's song volume settings in the Functions menu (this is a separate setting from the main volume). If that's not it, you should contact the company you purchased the piano from for more in-depth guidance. Hope that helps!

Actually you were almost right, the song volume knob on the piano board was down, that's why I couldn't hear anything ! As simple as that ! Thanks dude 🖖🏻 P.S I'm very disappointed by the accompagnements :( I wish there were more style beats and more time signatures...

First things to check when you're getting noise are the cables. One of them may have gone bad.

I would recommend contacting Roland so they can help you troubleshoot. I usually point to the cables and their connections first and foremost. If you test other cables and you're still getting the noise, try a different mic. If that doesn't solve it, definitely contact Roland. Best of luck to you!

Well, that depends. The action isn't identical to an upright's action because the hybrid doesn't have hammers. ...so there are a few minor differences. Mimic is Yamaha's word and it might be *technically* correct here. That said, I would definitely recommend a CLP-785 or an N2 if you're looking for a grand piano experience. Both actions (especially the N2 which is based on the C3X action) have more of a "grand piano" feel. Good point!

It was easy for us to remove it while filming this video. That said, I wouldn't recommend removing it. You'd lose access to the music rest, your fallboard and two of the piano's speakers.
