Hej.

This is an unusual car for our time, like everything else it has its disadvantages, but there are also advantages, one of them is dynamics. I have several cars of different classes, but I left this one, 2021/105KV/automatic/with AT tires, for out-of-town hunting and fishing trips, and I sincerely like it :))

No. Standard 1.4 Gasoline ~140HP. This was before mild hybrid was introduced. No auto transition. Some guys with auto transition said, they had even better results. And Gasoline was just plain PB 95 octane. So nothing fancy. You have reminded me, I need to redo tests with OBD tester and with stronger gasoline :)

Did you check if the car can drive in 2WD on these roads. Usually 4ws in such softroaders mostly useless.
@OutdoorAdventure0
@OutdoorAdventure0 3 ай бұрын
In most parts car can drive with 2WD. Problem starts where you have road covered with mud/water. Definitely in such situation, you use anything you have available to not stuck in the mud, even 2Wd could be maybe enough. But you never know fully, what kind of mud you have in front of you and how deep. Every soil type can differ and can have different effect on your tires. 4WD will provide you more control and ability to exit unexpected situation. And bigger margins for errors.

Unfortunately, mountains in Poland are mostly off limit(as a forest areas). It is illegal to go into most forests with car in Poland (even they are public). Of course I heard some guys are not obeying rules always to full extend ;) In Poland plains are mostly private, but rarely fenced, so sometimes you can drive on these, especially in winter. But best not to destroy crops. :)

Hello! Greetings from Brazil. I must be honest. I was pretty much on my way to get a diesel 4x4 Jeep Compass (although it has way higher maintenance costs), but after seeing your videos I´m sold on the Vitara (which costs around the same here in Brazil, both used and the same year similar trim level), now I´m searching for one (they are more difficult to find around here as few were sold, specially Allgrip versions, the vast majority is 4x2). Love your videos, man! Great examples of practical off-road usage. Is your the 1.4 turbo petrol? I was told it is the same engine as the Chevrolet Cruze, am I correct? (my wife owns a Cruze, so I´m pretty familiar with that drivetrain which is quite reliable, no problems in six years of ownership).

Hi, sorry for late reply. My one is 1.4 Turbo Gasoline. Very nice engine. In Europe they have discontinued Diesel Suzuki completely (ridicules climate policies). 5 years ago there was Diesel, but it was a bit less stronger (120 HP I think). I havent heard anything bad about Suzuki Diesel, so maybe this is good sign.

Thanks. another one from winter is comming, but less extreme this time :) Regarding tires. Better winter ones than summer "road" ones. :) I think winter ones are not far worse than AT. They are softer and have some visible tread in comparison with summer road tires. However, hard to do one to one tests ;) But they have saved me already in some bad situations.

I think it is 10HP less than my one. 95km is 130 HP. The difference in off-road wont be maybe so drastic. Still this is light car. And you can probably map engine differently, to have power back ;) Same engine but tuned down due to stupid "eco" laws.

Thanks for this video! I've just bought a new Suzuki Vitara, and it's always good to know how trustable can it be in every situation. If I can ask you a question, I'd like to know whether you changed the wheels, or they are the original ones. I'm in doubt with the tyres, as they are suitable for road driving, but not sure for the off-road.
@OutdoorAdventure0
@OutdoorAdventure0 3 ай бұрын
First - I swap Winter to Summer (solution for you depends where you live). Winter ones are enough for me during Winter for most conditions - In general less mud in Winter, but even some mud - winter ones can handle good, Snow is handled very good with them. For Summer I changed to Cooper AT tires. They are only ones which had exactly matching size. You can go with a bit oversized Yokohama AT probably. ATs had some disadvantages on the road (they dont grip asphalt so well as default tires). Default tires had not good grip in any conditions with muddy or wet terrain. So choice depends how you plan to use your car. I still drive with AT majority of my time even it is mostly on Asphalt (but I don't drive any more like in Sport car ;)).

Nice video! 👏 I'm thinking of buying this car but the approach angle and the ground clearance seem insufficient for the use I would make of it. It's a shame because it's really a multi-purpose car!
@OutdoorAdventure0
@OutdoorAdventure0 5 ай бұрын
Yeah, approach Angle is painful from time to time. I often hit ground with bumper. And if you hit hard, your "radar" may need re-calibration. I am considering if there is possibility to customize car in this regard. Ground clearance for its segment, is in the middle in comparison to other cars, not bad, not perfect.

I think new Suzuki price is still not bad in the market, in comparison with the rest. The issue is "real" new off-road cars are crazy expensive. 3-4 times more than Suzuki, so for having 4x4 Suzuki is probably still good choice for some purposes.

I think Nissan may have also good 4x4 drive. I heard, same Nissans, but older(previous version) 4x4 is used in Dacia and it is not bad. @@OutdoorAdventure0 hey! My setup is done, my car is already prepared with tires + lift. Ground clearance and breakover angles are the main gain by far. Both attack and departure angles are bit higher, but due to the characteristics of the project it's impossibile to have huge increases in this area. Firstly I drove for a few days only with the tire update. No problem at all. Tires are a bit harder, but without any considerable impact over comfort. These tires don't touch the internal parts, so it fits well. With tires + lift it's notable the visual change and also the feeling of driving in a higher position. I'm with the car for 30 days now. 2.000km so far, most of them in the highway using the stock setup. I only drove 100km with the new setup in urban areas. Soon I'll hit the road again and I'll also have the opportunity to do some off-road. I'll share my thoughts them.

@@OutdoorAdventure0 hi there! So far I drove 1.300km with the new setup. 50km off-road (light/medium, places acessible only by 4x4 vehicles), 1000km on the road (highways + minor roads), 250km in the city. My impressions: City: minor changes, but feels better to deal with roles and bumps on the way. The feeling of "driving from above" has increased and it's good as well. Highway/roads: car still having a good dynamics but it's quite easy to note a decrease in stability, grip and driving control. Not a big deal, still a great and well balanced vehicle, but with less capability to drive as fast as before due to the oscillations of the bodywork. Off-road: I don't have how to compare with the original setup but for sure there is a notable gain. Talking to some folks who owns Vitara or S-Cross I understand that the new angles and ground clearance delivers a safer experience through the trails. Tks!

Hi, Thanks for watching. :) Depends what do you mean by mountain routes. To some extend it behaves fine in mountains. But I haven't been in real rocky ones. Bottom of the car is not steel like durable. There is plastic cover there partially. So with rocks better to be carefully. If you plan to sleep inside - it is not very comfortable - by default. No flat bad. But if you are 180 cm you should fit. I am thinking about some clever solution for this issue. Good for long trips but not for more than for 1-2 person - not very big trunk. It is rather agile and versatile. You can go on-road and with 4x4 you have plenty of possibilities off-road. Nowadays - hard to find similar, so versatile option in similar price.
