The backing has a measure and you don't line up to it, do inexact measurements (defeats the purpose of measuring) and discount them for narrative reasons alone, compare wheels of different sizes when there are more equivalent options. It makes it look like the wheels are worse than they are and you're misdirecting to some. Prob. most as the type to look at comparison / spec content that purchase a lot are likely to be pretty obsessive
@skate-furtherКүн бұрын
@@insanogeddon Hey, I can see what you mean. The measurements are not 100÷ accurate, they are going to be off a couple of mm. The background however is not fine enough for distinctions. And yes when it comes to performance on the road for distance pushing purposes, from my experience there are clear winners! These wheels were designed in a certain way and it shows at what they are good at. I can see why it might look misdirecting to some, but I can't stop people to have assumptions from a video. They have to go out and try to build their own opinions! I can see that there might be better options to present in a comparison, when someone wants to buy a ~100mm wheel. But people don't usually want a certain sized wheel, they want a performant one. That's why you don't see a lot of super large wheels but mostly 85-95mm wheels. And that's why you see the ones in here. They are popular. But thanks for the feedback, I still have a lot to improve!

Hey I've been looking into buying a Pantheon board for longer distance commuting and your channel has been soooo helpful and I just want to thank you for answering so many of my questions about their boards. Do you think for the supersonic I should go with the Karmas or the Hokus using the option to add the 3/8 inch riser on the pantheon website? Will the added height affect pushing too much? Again I just want to thank you for making all these useful videos and responding to people's questions 😁

Hey, glad I can help, you can look at my newest Video, the berlin Challenge. I used a Supersonic with the hokus, Bear 130mm trucks. I dont even think it needs risers, i have one 3mm on there, just to be safe! It feels golden with the Hokus! But the Karmas are fun too. You wont go wrong with any of those! The Karmas work really well on other boards too, so you might be more flexible with them!

@@skate-further Hmmm... I bought the Bandito deck to with a goal of a surfier pumper, but it seems you're saying that it probably won't feel that good if I build it that way? I'm worried I won't be going at that fast of speeds all the time in a straight line (only sometimes), and would prefer some maneuverability. How is the turning radius on the Bandito with the Lepsk8, since the deck is so short? And are you able to wiggle/pump it at lower speeds still? What I'm afraid of is for it to just become another (expensive) push board. Thanks so much

not sure for what you plan to use the board, but if it is mainly for cruising I would (as always) strongly suggest getting a soft rubber wedge on front and rear truck with the sharp angle always facing forward. It just makes skateboard turn in a better and more intuitive way as well as increases the pumpability by ton in my experience. Just try your new complete both with and without something like 8° rubber wedges (i prefer soft rubber as this acts as a shockpad as well)

I think something else very important "goes under the board" (sorry i had to!) here :D What I mean is using Allen bolts over Phillips bolts because the latter tend to get carved out after several uses and if they are of suboptimal quality you quickly have a bolt that you can not remove from your board anymore. Lucky you if you can flex the nut off the other side, but just imagine the rest of the bolt is stuck in threaded head of your original YOW Meraki adapter... I know that usually this only happens if you screw the bolts too tight, but it can also happen with low quality bolts or if you use them repeatedly or to beginners or being careless for a second when using the electric drill. In my experience this only rarely happens with Allen bolts as the bit usually does not tend to slip out and scratch/carve the bolts surface on the occasion. Usually I try to use Allen bolts wherever possible and replace Phillips bolts by any chance. Unfortunately all the Quik Truks come with Phillips bolts currently which I really would like to avoid. I think I will give this as feedback to the inventor sooner or later :D

it may take a few weeks longer. howeever getting that ankle mobility dialed in a bit will help tremendously. You have to press the heel as much as the toes in the back foot to initiate the slide and without it. it looks awkward for you, and surely painful like you said.
@nicolashr8010 күн бұрын
Load the wheels with your weight rather than the hand on the ground, it will help not letting the board go away from you and cause you to bail. Read it somewhere and it really helped

@@skate-further Wow ember is more nimble? Hmmm I honestly would've thought the pranayama was more nimble since it's marketed as such. Really struggling to choose between the two (with stylus trucks and karmas), it doesn't help that they both have such amazing graphics on the underside as well

That rear heel is too high. You want to pressure the edge of the deck with the side of your shoes outsole. You also want to do stretches that help internal rotation of the femur. If your knees are sore, you may want to work on standing with some gluteus minimus and IT (iliotibial) band engagement. Or watch Dr. Emily Splichals videos about find the tripod of the foot. This is for the rest of your life when not skating. The knee usually isn't sore from the skating itself, it's usually due to your being internally rotated throughout the day, and then when you skate it kinda pushes you over the edge. You may be different of course. We can talk about it in greater depth when we connect next.

@parisgwyr786512 күн бұрын
Hey again! This happened to me too, you rear knee hurts because you have the hips in a worng position which doesnt allow you rear leg to turn to the correct position, you have to be more turned towards the turn so the hips and shoulders and head are looking over the turn, that allows to turn your leg and backfoot naturally. Also you wont tear your shoes anymore :D Btw sliding in flat ground is the hardest thing to do
@skate-further12 күн бұрын
Hey, that sounds logical, thanks for the hint!
@parisgwyr786512 күн бұрын
Hey! as you have a dropped board what you are attemting here very impossible. Dropped decks have long wheelbases which means you have to go a bit faster and its harder to initiate the slide, but more stable. So, find a mellow long hill and just try to carve with the glove down, and try to reduce the radius of the turn everytime. Forget about the board, move your body, shoulder and hips, exagerate the movement all you can and youll find the wheels breaking point. A key point to reduce the fear is to look further ahead, it really helps. If you have a shorter board, maybe its smart to try at slower speed and then go to the Pantheon. Top mounted boards are easier to initiate the slide. Experiment moving your front foot back and forth. Good luck, keep it up :D

Hey, thank you! i appreciate you looking to these videos, shorter board and some practice. Too bad my area doesnt have good hills.
