Thought it would be much harder and more limiting to switch to Affinity but it's very similar and i like the UI even more than Adobe's and i got used to it in a day, never looking back

Im using captcut and affinity photo currently. While capcut is not as comprehensive as Adobe Premiere. It gets the job done to steal memes😂. And it gets the job done for PC when i edit my games.

While the brushes you created are indeed very resourceful, I feel that a disclaimer is necessary here: they are not a selection tool. What you are doing is re-creating the fur outline of your subject to make it similar to generic types of fur. I don't want to take away the value of your creation, and in many instances the illusion created by the tool will work just as well as an actual accurate fur selection. But this illusion also has its drawbacks - it works best in what you are calling "busy" backgrounds that do not offer much color or lighting contrast to the fur of your subject. I may be wrong, but I believe in high contrast backgrounds this illusion would not work so well and you would be best served with other techniques involving actual selection such as gradient map and/or lighting masks.

I switched to affinity 3 years ago, best decision ever. I never had any issues with Affinity, I am still using the V1, and even when they released V2 which is very tempting, affinity made V1 great that you kinda feel like you don't have to upgrade, I mean there are few new features, but if it still works, why upgrade right?

Their updates are a set-up to give Adobe the right to monitor and record your screen and your work, which is a horrible privacy violation in addition to the obvious issues discussed in the video.

As much as I want to keep using Affinity, their software is nowhere near as good as Adobe, knowing that they should've learned from their strengths and weaknesses, still their program kind of sucks imo. Even the most simple task in that can be done with Adobe is utterly complicated in Affinity, and it's frustrating.

Until you end-up going back to Adobe. There are a tons of things Affinity has not yet implemented. The export is a HUGE problem in capabilities and production houses will not accept that. If you are a solo artist, ok but if you work with others and applications you are stuck Adobe. I use both, Affinity and Adobe, Affinity to design but everything ends up back to Adobe for final product.

It should be mentioned that Affinity can open complex AI files. That’s one of the best things about it. This hardly gets mentioned and should get people off the fence.

I love Affinity apps, but graphic designers should know that if they need to download and use PSD mockups, Affinity doesn't currently support the mesh wrap of PSD (Photoshop files); other than that, Affinity is amazing to work with.
