I do this on the bass, even in cover songs, I just think it's best to the song, just play the bass like it was a dumm kit most of the times. And it just feels right and good to listening too.

Andrew, I know this is an old video, but I just discovered your playlist and I feel like my brain exploded! All of this makes so much sense in a way it never did before. Thank you SO much

I've had both...the Joyo sounds WAY better, in my opinion! More clarity and less mud. Made me sick to my stomach to return the Revv.

I've been doing this for a couple of years and I still haven't nailed the open C chord. Those open chords up the neck are harder because of how they are farther away from my body. I think my hand position needs help. I'm an older beginner. Do you have a video on hand position up the neck?

Have you checked whether having the power brick mounted next to the drive pedal underneath introduces any additional noise? I was thinking of doing something similar but was worried about noise from the external power brick.

Andrew, By now I have spent 5+ hours, perhaps even 10 hours, researching how to gauge if I am an intermediate guitarist. Your video is concretely, one of the best. You have listed 10 quantifiable skills that can be mastered. Great stuff. The only two things I would add would be: 1) An intermediate guitarist can read sheet music and play a song quickly. 2) An intermediate guitarist can jam with other intermediate guitarists reading sheet music. I'm not an expert. I am an advanced beginner who has practiced/played 180+ days in a row. Your video is valuable, glad I found it on KZfaq. I do hope my feedback was useful. Thanks Again for Your Video.

Both have a slightly annoying harmonic on one of the chords. You do this comparison as a blind test, no one would be able to accurately tell the difference. Guitarist listen with their eyes.

As a beginner/intermediate guitar player, but experienced drummer, I’ve always done this. In the noob areas of the interweb that I frequent people often ask "what’s the strumming pattern" and it’s always sounded like the wrong question to ask.

If I could gift you $1 million, I would!!!! I have ADHD, & have been putting off playing my guitar because I cannot for the life of me understand what I’m doing or what I’m supposed to be doing I was told not to go the music theory route and try doing the pentatonic scale but even with that people just told me “oh, just learn the shapes not the notes & you will just get it one day by hearing it”… that did not help me at all. I came across your video & I’m so happy I did because you have explained it so well & I am so grateful! I’m literally sitting here at 3:21 AM writing down notes in my bed 😭 thank you so much for this video! You are an amazing teacher! Plz keep making videos!!

Andrew, I've had guitar teachers and lessons for decades, but no one has ever put all the scales, keys, and shapes together as you have. Most teachers never show how all the keys and scales are related, right inside positions on the fret board. This lesson puts it all together. A big thank you, especially for this lesson, which ties everything together. As you say, it's a beefy one.

Jokes aside my biggest Guitar learning challenge is hitting the chords and the right strings sometimes. Like my left hand will hit the chord then my right will strum a string too low. Funny enough as I write this comment you answered how to fix this. Lol wow great video
