I know that this video is posted 2 years ago, however, i hope you will read that and maybe even answer. I'm trying to write my custom cheat in study purpose for other game, and it works, but whenever the game updated by the developer, the memory offsets are changed after that, so according to that video that i have found, i can conclude for myself that CS:GO after updating the game, won't change offsets and you don't need to modify your code in order to still have a working cheat? Or is there any way, that somehow on runtime you can detect the correct memory offsets? Because i am using native functions of the game library to make a payload, but i see that you are not hooking or using any native functions of CS:GO code, except of just reading memory of an offsets.

We just went over something like this in a digital forensics course, covering the difference between kernal/user rootkits. Root level _anything_ is honestly terrifying, and the fact I have more than one on my PC is... Ugh. Why do we live in the world we live in...

Anti-cheat installing rootkits for ring 0 access is probably the biggest security violation, especially considering they can be bypassed just as easily as any other form of anti-cheat! It's beyond infuriating and I wish they'd just drop this ring 0 shite before a big game ends up with something like RCE and causes millions of people to get hacked because of sloppy anti-cheat.

so a base address is the "start", the offset is the steps i have to take to reach some specific thing for example m_iHealth etc... right? so you add the base address with the offset together to get the thing you want for example m_iHealth etc...? i might be completely wrong but thats my guess

The main reason I highly disagree with Kernel Anti-Cheat is because its a massive privacy concern. The people working at the company could literally gain full control over your PC if you have kernel Anti-Cheat running

I still don't like how anti cheats work as a Linux user They try to go to get the highest privilege (kernel and driver), make partnerships with Windows, Nvidia, AMD, etc and yeah you're trusting your computer to some company smaller than Microsoft. Valve did better anti cheats because they actually detect cheater patterns with AI. Can't say the same for TF2

MS devs back in the day didn't call the blue screen "blue screen of death". They call it simply blue screen or a BugCheck. BugCheck(or KeBugCheck) is a function down in the NT API that allows to raise the blue screen in the event that something down in the kernel. I'm here mostly for malware development, because the knowledge between cheat development and malware development is interchangeable. Like creating drivers and making malware that is invisible to the antiviurs or an IDS program. Or bypasssing anticheats, that are behaving like antiviruses themselves. The more you live, the more you learn.

Boot-kits are also a great idea. Boot-kits load before the operating system itself, so you can bypass the anti-cheat, because the cheat is loaded before the anti-cheat itself.

Question, does cheat developer target the anti-cheat itself, like patching the anti-cheat so it no longer work, or make it think that everything is working as intended. Wouldn't it be easier to cheat now that there's basically no anti-cheat.

My cheat runs in System Management Mode (also called Ring -2) with a simple protocol for peeking/poking memory, using a slightly modified BIOS, so to say a BIOS rootkit with a C2. I only patched the original SMM routine to check a memory region for commands and added said region to the ACPI description, to ensure safe access. That way I can have full read/write access on the complete physical memory address range. (This is a joke, but it should work. However your PC could catch fire, if stuff misbehaves in SMM)
