Great information, as always! I’ve had lots of ants going up my fig trees, feasting on my ripening figgies..not good! Thinking of putting diatomaceous earth around the base of the trees..what do you think?

Filling in the bed with wood is dumb
@bloomandwiltgardensАй бұрын
“Hügelkultur” is a German word that means mound culture or hill culture. A hügelkultur is a sloped and raised planting bed filled with topsoil, wood, and organic materials. German and European people have practiced it as a gardening method for hundreds of years. extension.okstate.edu/fact-sheets/sustainable-landscapes-creating-a-hugelkultur-for-gardening-with-stormwater-management-benefits.html

I read that grocery store garlic is not the garlic I want to use to grow my own garlic. Where should I get the garlic I do want to plant?
@bloomandwiltgardensАй бұрын
Many online seed sellers also sell hardneck garlic towards September. Or if you have a local grower of garlic you can buy from them directly.

I’m wondering if I can grow corn on top of my container potato patch? It’s a 20 gallon grow bag. Anyone think it’s possible?
@bloomandwiltgardensАй бұрын
If you try it be prepared to feed/fertilize those grow bags. Both potatoes and corn are heavy feeders and won’t be able to dig their roots deep to find nutrients when grown in a bag. I think it’s a really interesting idea and would like to know how it turns out for you!
