Hey Kristin, I work at the usps. And delivering in the heat is the worst. I don’t enjoy it at all. But at least it keeps me in shape. Sundays are my longest days. I usually have 150 stops or less. Unless I get help that’s slow as molasses. And then I pick up their slack lol

Your organization can improve with a more effective way to organize your bags and I assure you that you will feel lighter during the day. If you have any social network, let me know so I can send you a photo of how I organize myself. Maybe it will work for you💪🏽💪🏽 stay safe out there 0:41

How is the AC in there? I'm debating getting the training but it gets hot as hell here in NC. The van is new and has AC but not sure how well they blow cold

@krisp359 күн бұрын
Today, there was no heat break required, and it was a high of 87. I'd say 95 and above.

Hi Kristin I was actually talking about you a couple of hours ago when you uploaded. I used to deliver to individual houses but now I drive a 26 foot box truck and I deliver to post offices most of the time but sometimes we deliver to one Amazon warehouse to another Amazon warehouse. Are box trucks actually haves the Amazon logo all around the trucks. It is cool because you don't have drive during heavy traffic because we drive at night. Plus it only requires just like the step vans a dot medical card

The way to bypass the break is turn airplane mode on then immediately swipe to take break then sign into your flex account on another phone then when it finally loads you in with the prompt "Switch devices" turn on airplane mode on that new phone and click on yes then your 10 minute break should allow you to end it again so far has worked for me both phones i was using motorollas provided by my DSP

It’s better backing up on every stop if possible and I usually take a 10 minute heat break and then after that Start the 30 minute lunch break Because it’s gonna make you stop again lol

@krisp35Ай бұрын
Not that often. Most of the time, they are friendly. There's no need to be scared. You don't have to deliver anything if it feels unsafe.

yesterday i had 154 stops in pocono pa. it’s an hour drive from the facility but i had to go through a big detour so i started a half hour late. i started at 1:05 by 3:50 i had 117 successful deliveries and by 5:50 i have finished my entire route. had an hour drive back to the station and completed my day early even with a huge delay. a coworker of mine was in the same area as mine but with 94 stops only. he didn’t finish until 8:40 🤦🏽♂️

How often do you have to bring a 50 pound box up the stairs in an apartment complex? Are most of the boxes not too heavy?
@krisp35Ай бұрын
At least once or twice a week. It's pretty often that you get some heavy boxes
@pirsensor1186Ай бұрын
Why the hell the dont put numbers from 1 to 145 if you have 145 package to deliver on the boxes so you only follow the numbers.

If the snow is that bad, Amazon won't make us drive in it. It's not bad

I always recommend when I train new drivers to train your eyes to the driver aid sticker because at least where I'm from the majority of houses are 5+ numbers long and the stickers are always 3. I only tell them to use the address to verify. So if you're used to driver aid it will make sense to do the same for overflow

I am scheduled tomorrow for my driver road test and vehicle I am driving will be the Amazon CDV van. Do you have any tips / pros and cons about the difference between the CDV vans and Amazons Step Trucks ??? I am only 5'1" with no truck / van driving experience I am a little nervous about driving such a large vehicle. Thanks !! 😊
@krisp353 ай бұрын
I don't like the cdvs. They have space, but the seat is very low to the ground, which is why I don't like them. That's just me.. But it drives more like a normal car, unlike the step van. You'll be fine. Good luck!

I like this idea, gonna give it a try. Regardless, the packages need to be in the front seat...whatever method you use. When Im on the same street, I dont close the sliding door.

how long does it take you to finish 300+ packages on average? did you get rescued often?
@krisp353 ай бұрын
I don't get rescued at all. When I first started, I did, of course. 300+ packages take me anywhere from 5-7 hours lol but it really depends on the route I have and how many groups stop there are and things like that.
