I get goosebumps every time I watch these two skate. I can't imagine what it's like to be blessed with so much talent.

Scott and Tessa's performances are a True Art of Ice Dancing expressed in several aspects: technical, artistic, musical, as well as in sensuality and elegance. And to achieve all this , it seems that, in addition to their artistic skills, Scott and Tessa must have a very determined, competitive and resilient personality, which would have allowed them to define the objectives to be achieved, and to implement the necessary discipline to be able to achieve them. We can only give APPLAUSES to these two excellent Figure Skating Athletes.

Taking Wagner was a slap in the face to an athlete who worked hard and did what she needed to do to make a spot on the team. When moments are taken away as being on the Olympic team it does something to an athlete. Mirai could have brought home a medal, but Federation made 'their' decision and not the right one.

I'm reading her memoir rn. She talks about this skate/the situation leading up and thoughts during in depth, in it. So now I have to rewatch it. So good!

Like she said herself in the beginning of this video - she always skated like it was her job, never any passion...she never looked like she enjoyed herself or had fun...just did a difficult job and focused very hard....That the reason I never got any enjoyment from watching her skate - she always looked like she is just labouring away until the job is finished.

Reading her memoir made me revisit this moment. It was a wow before but now it's just so layered with meaning and emotion. She was, and is, something special.

Today, what Yulia showed, is just the minimum regarding jumps, combinations and sequences. Same goes for step sequences and pirouettes. It’s only been 10 years, but the sport has evolved tremendously. Not that I like it, to be honest. The Russian Eteri Tudberize girls jumping quadruples makes no sense to me. Especially considering that they all pre-rotate AND under-rotate those jumps, basically making 3 1/4 turns. The expectations are so high, they ruin their bodies and have to stop competing by the age of 18. Sad affair, really. It ruins the beauty of this sport.

Best part of video, for me anyway, is at the very end where Yuna is lacing up her skates. There’s no greater FEELING of anticipation & intention that goes along with lacing up the skates.
