Love the warmth of the varnished plywood. The "hidden" windows are a great idea.

I'd rather watch NHL playoffs than listen to builders express their disinterest in affordable options. Go Canucks! But seriously Kerry, I prefer your show and tell videos. Not so much listening to "behind the scenes" stuff. But you look adorable as usual!

Why NOT tell us the names of the systems, materials like siding and inside finished walls?

He’s a young man on the grind. I love it. He’s saving himself about $72,000 every 4 years. If he’s comfortable and happy I dont have a problem with it at all.

This is a cool little house. I'm glad there are people who love and respect history enough to keep these homes occupied and beautiful. I hate seeing once grand homes that have been abandoned and lost in time.

Kirsten another amazing video. I think my favorite videos are the garage conversions and the ADU's. These home designs seem normal. I'm not really into extreme designs. More videos like this please.

I find it amusing that they're surprised that latin engineering techniques haven't caved in. Of course it hasn't. It will stand long for thousands of years.

Beautiful farm. Curious not to see any solar panels I would think in Hawaii it would benefit this individual and the island’s carbon footprint. Perhaps they were not videoed. Outside of that. The views are grand. I do appreciate the size. Not massive. Perhaps more than the average but not excessive. Tasteful. This gentleman seems to revere the land and he’s making it work. Hats off ! Great video.

1. I have all the respect in the world for this young man and his build. He will go far! 2. It's quite sad to me, and a little ridiculous, that our future doctors might actually be out there living in vans. We need to do something to lower the cost of an education (and the cost of living) for people entering service-oriented professions. Do we want a shortage of doctors? If med students cannot afford to live while studying, we're going to end up with a shortage of doctors. Most people don't want a given career badly enough to live in a van. That goes for other professions, as well. His van may be cozy, but he is technically homeless. Students should not have to choose between homelessness and life altering debt. Investing in our citizens' educations - and their living expenses while they are acquiring those educations - would be a wise move on our part.

I live in an ADU, and love that I don't have to share walls, and get to live in a cute older neighborhood. Everything is energy efficient as well. My place is where my landlord's old unattached garage was, and fits in with the vibe of the neighborhood.
