Of course "Take it easy" wasnt an Eagles song either......Jackson Brown would attest with, no doubt, the same politesse as Ian....Rolex's not withstanding.....😂 Me

Ok it if this is true then why is the music video giving the opposite story?

The video shows a magic carpet. During those times, men would ask young girls if they wanted to go on a magic carpet ride. What it meant was taking drugs, listening to music and laying diwn on the carpet making out. The drugs and the man being the magic, feeling something they never felt before. Kind of hints at the magic carpet ride song as well. But yeah, that's what these men did with young girls, take em on a ride. What the music video represent

Was this interview done before or after he was read his Miranda rights? I’d say the “mini skirt, stacked heels” comment at the end sealed the deal that he was a creep. Then, of course, there’s the music video…which I’d refer to as People’s Exhibit A.

Ed was kind of a prick. A self righteous prick. Good thing I can separate the individual from the music because pearl jams first five records kick ass,

Great song! But why in the video is he kissing the girl on the carpet? If it is an innocent song, why not just have them flying on the carpet smiling and showing him he is "lifting her up" as they fly away.

The problem with all this is just that The Eagles, I guess especially Don Henley, are such a bunch of douche bags. I love, love, love the first 3 Tull l.p.'s. Especially Stand Up and Benefit.
@micker983011 күн бұрын
I'm sure it was inspired by it, but it's not a direct copy of it. Music grows more music. You take something and add to it or change it and make new music. Not like Hotel California hurt Jethro Tull in the least. If anything, it's now making people listen to them. Too bad Don Henley is such a jerk with the copyright non sense on KZfaq.

Ok .. he explained the reason behind the song, but the lyrics and especially the music video don’t match what he said. The music video he’s making out with the 16 year old girl on a carpet ride instead of protecting her

Great story and I hope it's true ... Sounds like a long winded story to justify crying about not being able to be with a 16 year-old

Wtf!?!? He should have written lyrics about the story of a man who helps young people and not a pedo story then.

No it’s the Golden State serial rapist story manifested by a delusional songwriter trying to make evil look normal in the 1980’s. The Golden State serial rapist MO in 1980 in California was shining a flashlight in a girl’s bedroom. DeAngelo was arrested in 2022 after 40 years in Sacramento.

That's an awesome story and that's awesome how he came up with the song but for real would you rather Benny Playing the part or the parent man in the video cuz at least Benny looks like he could pass for 17 or 18 in the video just saying

fishy. The song doesnt have anything like that Infact the video has a 16 year old, who this old guy starts kissing in the end. maybe someone can explain what was that for ? i think he was just trying to get out of child molestation when the laws came out later :P Dont get me wrong, i loved this song in my teens

A kind man. He said he did not know what to do. You don’t know what to do, you take action and do anything. This proves doing something is better than nothing. Action equals intelligence. A true man strong but kind, confident but humble.

I love Pearl Jam before, during and after Dave A. Vs is probably my fav album of theirs and Dave A my fav drummer of theirs. The band can get too woke at times (Gigaton...) and how Eddie treated Dave was bad. Eddie is right about a lot of things too though and the song turned out awesome, the backstory is kinda sad though. Obviously, woke people are also right about some things but they should recognize their biases and try to not treat people the way Eddie and Jeff treated Dave. Anyway, I still love PJ and wish Dave A the best. Hope he gets the apology he deserves.
