True story. About 10 years ago I was metal detecting in the ocean off the beach of Delray Beach, Florida. I found a digital camera. I rinsed the memory card in freshwater and rubbing alcohol and let it dry. There was a few hundred photographs on the camera. A fairly wealthy family by the looks of the real estate in the photos. There were actually snapshots of Christie Brinkley at a charity auction on the phone. A family birthday party. and some photos of people visiting and elderly lady at a retirement home. It was a really weird feeling, I felt like I was trespassing, or worse, spying. I was looking for clues to see if I can find the owner. I saw a framed newspaper article on the wall in the living room of a house. It was a restaurant wright up and review. The restaurant was in New Jersey I believe. I called the restaurant, and they gave me the camera owner’s phone number. I called the guy. He was gob smacked. He could not believe I found it. He almost started crying. He got pretty choked up. He said that was the last time he and his children saw his mother alive.

That’s amazing! I absolutely love that you put in the extra work to find him! This is why I love doing what I do! You never know what you’re going to find, the story that lies behind that object and whose life it might impact! I’m sure that person still tells the story of how you got him back those pictures and will never forget you!

Here’s another one. I used to be a treasure diver in Sebastian Florida. One day I found a gold college class ring, with a name engraved on it. I came up to the surface and handed the ring to my boss, then I went back down and finished detecting the hole that we had blown. By the time I was finished, literally about 10 minutes, my boss had located and contacted the owner, who now lived in Colorado. The owner of the ring said that the last time he saw it was when his condo had gotten broken into in Miami Beach in the 1970s. 45 years later, the ring is found in the ocean 150 miles away.

I store my pictures in a nas at home but id rather not store them in a cloud usualy where other people could gain access trough if I had an iPhone the stuff you safe on the cloud can be looked trough by apple personel

Surprisingly, most of them do! I’ve found over 50 of them now and I think only about 5 didn’t turn back on. I actually was just able to return one that was underwater for a year and worked perfectly still!

The area I lost the phone is in 4 feet of that aquatic plant anachris. Sad because I adore that plant in my fish tanks. We gave it our best shot. I just hope he gets enough to keep going until his channel starts making some real money. That was a cool ring and it was a miracle he found it. I've tried metal detecting before and it sure isn't easy.

If the AirPods are real, there will be a serial number in the case! It's inside of the lid, over the left pod. If you take them to an Apple store they should be able to use that to find the owner.
