Looks good! I really like how you use flash for the wings. I have seen folks use natural materials like hackle or deer hair. The natural materials seem to get warped and all crooked just from using them one time. I think with the flash being synthetic it will hold its shape better or atleast not look as bad if it gets a little misshapen. It also has more of that translucent look that dragon fly winds have.
@FishTales-Reel-Life-Adventure7 сағат бұрын
and they do not twist as bad as more life-like wings..

Great video, Ben ! Somehow I missed this when you did it - so glad I found it. I too am a great fan of Bob Clouser and his wonderful minnow fly. I never had the opportunity to meet him in person but early on in my fly tying experience, I called him and visited with him about his fly. I told him I had bought versions of his fly and tied some myself and wanted some from his very hand as the perfect example. I ordered three different color variations in three different sizes and keep those aside as special samples. The man and his fly made such a mark on our sport. Jim Bob Holmes, formerly from Ledbetter, now from Dallas.

Lake Aquilla is near Hillsboro and about 30 miles north of Waco right up Interstate 35... I don't fish the Houston area much..

Another good video. Have a different type of question regarding what you wear when wading. Do you use waders or something else?
@FishTales-Reel-Life-Adventure24 күн бұрын
Wintertime thru spring I do wear waders, usually hip waders because I often walk for miles up and down rivers and creeks. When wade fishing a lake I will often wear chest waders until about this time of the year when it get too dang HOT! It will be wet wading from now until September
@kennybarker300824 күн бұрын
Thanks for the quick reply. Guess that means you’re not fishing. Hah. So do you have like a dedicated set of shoes/boots that your wear?
