Great video! So we are temporarily moving overseas for a few months to a year, quick question, if my daughter completes 2nd grade at T4L, can she go to 3rd grade in the states? Would the public school system accept this as a second grade completion? Thanks

Technically t4l is not accredited. However, when you’re ready to re-enroll they will most likely do a placement exam and enroll her into 3rd grade.

Start with one habit you want them to develop and stick to it until they comply. It will be hard at first. Stick with it. When that habit is solidified add another one.

I need a platform that allows me to create when needed our own classwork, projects, quizzes, and tests. I also need to be able to print out detailed end-of-year reports. Can Time 4 Learning do this?

The reporting is a huge part of why we love time for learning. I can print out grades, attendance, and keep track of progress. You can’t create your own quizzes but you can set a minimum score to pass. I have my children set at at least 80% to pass a quiz or test.

Yes. We primarily use time 4 learning and we supplement with the good and the beautiful because I really like their history and language arts.

Hello, just wondering what the program is like for learning to read. I have a struggling learner. He knows his abc and sounds know and I’m looking for an online program that teaches them to read. I went to public school but wasn’t taught reading by phonics so wanting something that teaches the concepts. Would this be a good program or do you need to supplement for reading as well?

It’s very good! We have had huge success with our struggling readers. I’ve also used duo abc. It’s a free app that helps kids learn to read!

Hello, I’m just wondering what the program is like for learning to read? I wasn’t taught reading by phonics so needing a program that does the teaching for me. How to teach blending etc. my son knows his abc and sounds of letters but struggled to learn them.

The book- “100 lesson to teach your child to read”, helped me teach my son to read. Shit It taught me phonics!- i didn’t learn tht growing up…

Eh. I would use the book named above! I Had my son reading before we started T4L for the 1st grade with that book. T4L has its phonic lessons under the ELA extension. But I don’t it was solid enough to have them reading within a few months. The lessons on T4L for reading are loose.

Wow! Loved hearing this. I struggle with not wanting a computer to take over, but I love how it was a blessing in the end. I also understand feeling unseen. I was one of 8 kids, and it’s very true my mom didn’t have time for one on one time for us. Super important! Great points :)

Thank you so much for your very honest review. So many of us struggle with this as we feel we all need to be sitting family style with EVERY subject. We have done it this way for a long time and it is just not the best fit anymore for my upper elementary learners. I am the same, I want us to sit and enjoy the time, not feel pressure to get it done!!

The pressure can feel intense. When I start to feel that overwhelming feeling, that’s when I know I’m not focused on the right thing. Time with family is the best!

They’re short bit size lessons. Ten minutes maybe. There’s a lesson, and then a practice, then a quiz. ❤️

Thank you for your review. I feel the SAME WAY using Time 4 Learning. We started home schooling in 2020, moved and then went back into public school 2021. I recently pulled my daughter back out of public school and Time 4 Learning was the only option I even considered. Well intentioned friends and family made other suggestions but I just love the curriculum, it covers everything they need to learn while still allowing us plenty of time to do the things that we want to do with all of our extra free time.

@@artsoto5459I didn't have an issue when I enrolled my daughter in a new district in 3rd grade. When I withdrew her in the 5th grade, they said she would have to test to get back in. I am not sure that is true because it was an off-hand comment as I was withdrawing her. I guess it depends on the school but I don't think there would be a problem getting her back into public school.

I live in oklahoma. I have five kiddos, 4 that love public school and my oldest who is in 6th. We use epic ed and have for over a year. Most days are a fight to get the expected curriculum done. I am educating myself on other options. I am so grateful for all of your info! Do you have to benchmark or state test? If so can you do a video on this?

There’s absolutely no state testing in Oklahoma. You write a letter of intent to homeschool to withdrawal, and then you are 100% in charge of your child’s education.

As a new Christian homeschooling mom, I definitely have had the mom guilt of these are my children that the Lord blessed me with so I should be able to teach them. The way I schedule is plan the unit as a whole, then make a list of activities for each week, so that I could accomplish whatever I wanted on whichever day I felt more energy. Over the weekend I pulled all the stuff together that I would need, so that it was ready to go. I'm looking at your first aid unit, and how it is similar--a list that you can check off as you go.

Love your humble and raw attitude! I have a son with autism, apraxia, and adhd. We homeschool yearround also. Our weekly goal is 4 days a week for a few hours each of those days. He struggled with reading a lot until we found Explode the Code. That has been a life saver for us. Would love to see your curriculum choices. Havent checked your other videos yet.
