Question: Is it normal if the barrel extension which is mounted over the chamber (slides in the receiver) is loose/can be twisted on the barrel?
@bgdesignandsolutions
@bgdesignandsolutions Күн бұрын
Some of them will rock back and forth when installing the barrel back with the receiver. The rocking should go away when the retainer cap is tightened. As you tighten the cap, it should find it's "sweet spot" and stop rocking. Make sure it's as tight as you can get it by hand. No tools.

He has done that since a pup when he was first exposed to guns. He loves the water, not afraid of Guns, and loves to watch deer. If I even just clean a gun he is right there watching and waiting. He is really good on pheasants and has his own style, but not so much on quail. Runs right over them. He goes after ducks and points them as well. He's my buddy. He has learned not to runout during dove season and stands or sits beside me, but as soon as one is hit he's on it.

I forgot to comment on the Matrix. Worked very well until I shot full length 3" shells during duck season. With a little modification, it works on all 3" shells now and of course the 2-3/4 as well. I made a video on the modification. You may want to check it out.

Try shooting only one shot in it at a time and see if it's kicking it out. If it is, then load two and check to see if it's jamming the next shell under it. Maybe bend it out a little. Remove and check the extractor and make sure it is smooth on both sides and spring is clear of debris. Check trigger assy for rub marks on the side. Also, the shell lifters are sometimes put in with the wrong piece. A left had unit instead of a right hand unit. This will rub the inside of the receiver and cause it not to work.

I just came across your video, very informative, I just purchased a Rock Island Li-On 12 gauge auto, same issues obviously, have you any experience with those ? I’m going to do a deep clean on it and hope that helps. I’ve only put 5 rounds through it , light loads. Wondering if you had any advice or tips on that particular model. Are all these Turkish brands pretty much the same ??? Thx

It seems these style of Guns made in Turkey are pretty much the same and have the same issues. I am not familiar with the one you mention. But if it looks the same, it was likely made at the same factory. Did the ring come off the piston on that one? I made one that works pretty good since I made this video. So there is an answer to the problem. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iLFjhq2eq9bck4E.html .......

Hello. Can you give me your toughts on my plan to make a "disassemblable" metal hoist with bolts. My biggest concert is safety. The structure or design would be much like yours. The engine weights 350lbs. The bolts would be used "grade 8" in US standard. "M10-10.9" metric standard. Height - 7.2ft. Materials to use - 3x3x1/4inch wall square tubing for the overhead beam and the two side "T". The bracing would be with angle iron - 2x2x1/4 inch. I need to take engine out of Kia Optima. The engine is 350lbs. Wonder if i need more than 7.2ft height. If of course the whole thing is begin to start with. Thanks for the time.

@bgdesignandsolutions

I rigged one up. I drilled and tapped the receiver and put a Mossberg scope base on it. But you can only use the back part of the receiver and base and not drill into the front side because the metal is too thin. The base is set at 1/2" hole spacing. I then drilled another hole 1/2" away toward the center and then drilled 3 holes 1/2" apart into the receiver to match. I bought 3 new longer screws that would go all the way into the receiver for strength and ground them off flush with the inside of the receiver. I had to take them in and out until flush. I used a course thread to prevent cross threading of the screw because the receiver is aluminum. Course threads hold better in aluminum. I've had no issues. I put a scope on at first and then later changed it to a reflex sight. But you may want to check with Hatfield and see if they offer a scope base.

I still have it, but never use it. I switched up and use the 3-1/2" version for goose and the Matrix for most everything else now because its lighter. As for the piston problem, I designed a new piston and it works great in 3" and 3-1/2", so no worries about that anymore.

@bgdesignandsolutions
@bgdesignandsolutions 7 ай бұрын
@@jeffclark8696 I am assuming the shell is coming all the way back, and you have an empty shell on top and a loaded one in the bottom of the receiver. If one shell is shot, it does what? Close the bolt back with the empty in it? Stay open? Or Shell part way out? If two or more shells are in it: does the next shell leave the magazine when fired? Does it go under the fired shell? Will it eject 2-3/4" shells? Does it cycle the next shell in the magazine? Any issues when shooting 2-3/4" It is cycles the 2-3/4" just fine, I see no reason for it not to cycle the 3" shells other than they are too long and you need to get another box of a different brand.

@bgdesignandsolutions when it first started I shot a 1 3/4 platted lead shot from winchester turkey loads. Started having issues after that. I had the ringed piston in. Emailed the company they said check all this and that then said get the heavy piston. Only issue it never cycled or ejected 3". Got it to eject 2 3/3" again with the heavy piston. Yes, the first shell doesn't eject and the next shell is under trying to load. I have to physically remove and the next shell will and shoot. The only thing left to change is the bolt. Just replaced the slide due to the roll pin snapping. Could it be the return bring in the stock as well. I see yours is on your magazine cylinder
@bgdesignandsolutions
@bgdesignandsolutions 7 ай бұрын
@@jeffclark8696 You need to oil the spring in the stock as well. And make sure it's not hanging up from top to bottom. What I have found is the stock spring itself plays a very little role in causing a hand up, but it cannot be ruled out completely. Take the bolt and trigger assy out of the receiver, and use a rod or something to push the retainer down into the stock spring tube. If it slides easy with no restrictions or grabs, then you can rule it out. In my testing, I have found the spring tension in the tube is not sufficient to stall the bolt from coming back. But a burr on the plug will. But that is rare. One thing you may try before replacing the Bolt Assy, is to get a small flat file and file the extractor a little deeper and make sure the edge is sharp that contacts the rim of the shell. Also make sure the inner edge of the extractor is parallel with the bolt face and not leaning out or up. Check the extractor spring for movement and burrs. Sometime a burr on the extractor will cause it to slip because it will not fully engage on the rim of the shell. I have filed the sides of a few in the past, and even on major brands to get them to work properly. I just pulled the extractor out of a very slightly used Stoeger M3000 in "like new" condition I recently bought, and filed down both sides of it to make it flat and smooth because it wasn't ejecting shells like it should. I figured that was the reason it was hardly ever used and traded off. It's in very good shape, and now ready to use and hasn't failed since. So, you may want to try flattening the sides and make sure the inside of the extractor is smooth with no burrs as well first. After you do that, put an EMPTY 3" shell in it and close the chamber. Then pull back the bolt, fast or slow or both. It should eject clean and clear if all is working well. You can then test it the next time you go out to shoot it.

@bgdesignandsolutions
@bgdesignandsolutions 8 ай бұрын
The ring coming off is a major issue with these guns and a poor design. There's no reason for them to have continued it for this long period of time. There is a small fix for it. Got to 15:22 minutes in this video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qbubZtiGvMmse4k.html It shows what I did. I put a small angle at the ends of the ring to hold it down with pressure. I have since made a piston that has no ring and works very well. I will post a video on it soon.
