Nice video, BUT one item of note, the hop step to deliver the ball onto the lane was really not discussed, this is a major difference from one handed to two handed when I switched, never took a hop step with one hand, would of been laughed out of my league if I did.

How close do you consider the Strike to be with the Hyper Venom? Is one significantly earlier/stronger than the other? Thanks.

The Hyper Venom cover makes it push down the lane much more than this Scorpion Strike.

I'm a bit confused. The title says "New dry lane bowling ball", but then you made a comment on how you couldn't play out in the dry due to the coverstock still being too aggressive. The ball looks good but, i'm not sure if i can trust that this ball would be a good choice to use for when the house, tournament, or sport shots dry up. I'll look at this some more and compare it to the Ocean Vibe by Hammer. thanks

@insidebowling 17 сағат бұрын
When lanes develop into being dry, you are much further inside and going left to right through the dry part of the lane. This ball performs well at that time. I was bowling on fresh oil and the outsides is where the dry is. If I start it in the dry, then keep it in the dry, much more up the lane, then yes it will over-hook. However, If I was swinging it steep to the outside then it did perform well. When a pattern gets dry, it's blended out more but still hooking. Using a 15-20 board swing usese physics for the ball to naturally not hook immediately. Hope this clears some things up. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for this video. I think it will be very helpful. I started bowling three months ago with a Raw Hammer hybrid, before getting a Roto Grip Attenion Star about a month and a half later. And recently a friend gave me a Brunswick In Out Solid (which apparently is an international release that has the same core as the Kingpin, but a slightly different coverstock). So that means I have a dull asym, a shiny asym, and a weaker symmetric ball. I've been shooting spares with the Raw Hammer, but I think I'd like to get a spare ball and use those four balls for the time being.

@@HazmatCrowl54454 I think he meant it because house balls don’t hook. So, if you just throw straight, that’s all you need. You don’t need all the bells and whistles (that make balls pricey) to throw straight.

What is your normal ball speed? At 66 yrs old I tend to be in the mid to high 14 mph ball speed throwing 15 pounds. I like a ball that goes long and enters the pocket smoothly. I don’t want a ball that makes an extreme left turn.
@insidebowling
@insidebowling 16 күн бұрын
Normal ball speed is 15 mph. This ball is pretty responsive. You could knock it down to 2000 to control that back end.

So I am a low rev/low speed (13mph) senior bowler... using a Radical Outer Limits for medium oil, a Hammer Nu Blue Hammer for dry lanes, and want a recommendation for oily lanes (currently using a Brunswick Infinity but it is similar with the outer limits). High track bowler and like the control shape. Any suggestions? Do like the higher RG and lower dif balls to get me down the lane before it burns up ... these envy balls look great
@drjandtex

maybe a Black widow 3.0 or a Track Stealth Solid?
@insidebowling
@insidebowling 16 күн бұрын
Envy series is great. The Envy Tour is a great benchmark ball that helps you control the lane on even your worst days. If you are looking for a ball that hooks more and is at a great price point, maybe try the Arctic Vibe if you can handle a white bowling ball, or if not that, perhaps try the Hammer Effect.
