I just found your channel and I’ve been watching for hours. I love your research and find you so informative. You have really taught me a lot about boosters - I didn’t know anything about them. I have been using the ISDIN mineral sunscreen that is UNtinted and made for sensitive skin. I don’t have the chemical knowledge that you do, but in my experience with this particular formula, it has no fragrance. Also, it’s the first in years that I have absolutely no reaction to. I would be very interested in your opinion of this particular version of ISDIN, because it is working for me, but if you think there are any dangerous chemicals in it, I would really appreciate knowing. Thank you!

As a 59-year-old woman with sensitive skin, I'm always looking for skin care products that don't break the bank or my skin. After my Instagram feed was inundated with testimonials and ads for Typology, and after watching your review, I decided to give it a go. Of course I went all in (as I always do), not realizing they had a no-returns policy. Boy, do I wish I read the fine print. On the plus side, I got my shipment faster than most of my orders shipped from within the U.S. But three days in, after using the various serums (including the tinted one), I'm not impressed. Au contraire, I could not dislike the products more than I do. They make my skin feel dryer than before I put them on, even the hydrating serum and the moisturizer. The tinted serum actually flaked when applied over the other serums and felt drying. I know you mix yours with moisturizer, but you shouldn't have to. Since I can't return any of it, I feel like I've thrown nearly $300 out the window. I'll return to my Thrive BB Cream and Skinceuticals skin care regimen - which, while really expensive, makes my skin look and feel much better than the Typology.

Oh no, I am so very sorry to hear this from you. Probably I should have started the review by discussing the no return policy, because that is a huge downside. Thanks so much for sharing your experiences here so that other people can make more informed choices as a result. ❤

@@lisapetrison-beautyreviews The no return policy is a biggie, but that's on me. That said, I've since reassessed the products and decided that the tinted serum is, when added to my Skinceuticals moisturizer, really quite amazing. I get adequate coverage, it doesn't cake and, most astonishingly, doesn't get stuck in my pores. So, big fan of the tinted serum (even with having to add it to the moisturizer). I've ditched the hydrating serum, because it left my skin feeling sticky, and the moisturizer, because it felt like it was drying out my skin ... but the jury is still waiting to make its verdict on the other serums. (I also like the concealer.) What I should have said in the previous review (and am ashamed that I didn't) is that your review was amazing. Thank you for your thoroughness and honest opinions, and I'm sorry for not stating that first and foremost.

Oh thanks much for the update and the compliment on the review. I guess that I used to find it to be a little weird that hyaluronic acid serums left a tacky feeling on my skin, but eventually I concluded that my skin liked them a lot and that the tackiness actually made them act well as a primer for makeup and so changed my mind. I think the Typology one doesn’t have too many other ingredients and so may be especially noticeable for that. I wonder which moisturizer you tried. I didn’t like the coconut oil one much at all (called 9 Ingredient or something like that) but I did like the other one quite a bit. I am very sorry with regard to the money that you wasted. Please report back if you come to any conclusions about the other things you bought.

I started using just The Rich Cream in 2017. I'm a pale redhead with the bad packaging that often accompanies the colouring. Years of exzema, very irritable, very dry, very flaky, uncomfortable, allergic skin had left me 'knowing' it would always be like that. I'd also used cortisone in many different bases until the pharmacist my psrents worked with hadfound one that didnt override the cortisone. This started at 3 months of age. The cortisone gave my parents some relief but thinned my skin and was hard to get off of. As an adult I spent a lot of money trying out creams and flaking, peeling etc. When this cream came out, i reasoned that if it worked it would be less expensive than what id been doing. Immediately my skin calmed down. My face became all one colour. My skin stopped flaking off. I could wear black! My face ceased to hurt. It was just not an issue. At that point it had been 61 years of constant effort and it was over. I was no longer using moisturizer to glue down the flakes. I just had a face. Your video made me go look at old pictures. There aren't many cuz who wants a picture of that! But i found one where I'm looking at my new granddaughter and i have a deep dry curved furrow from my eye around my cheek to my mouth. 7 years later, free from my skin as a problem, i have moist skin with only light crow's feet and no furrow! Im no longer worried about meeting people because i look like a regular person. I'm no beauty, but at 68 i have the best skin of my life! It's just not an issue any more. I use a tiny bit of the Essence and the Rich cream morning and evening. Nothing from years of dermatologists ever came near. My skin is just not a problem and it's completely comfortable and looks quite pretty! At 68!

RMS makes a cream concealer in a pot that is very nice. I don't think that makes a good eyelid primer though. For that, I have been using a water-based concealer in a tube - Saie or Kosas or Haus Labs. I know that I used the new Haus Labs blush in Glassy Pomelo for some of these looks - I really like it! go.shopmy.us/p-6224356. I may have used a Westman Atelier blush stick at one point, I can't remember for sure. ❤

Nice info I never knew. Interesting how one quad fell apart. Could be the texture or consistency like you said? I remember a beauty YTuber showing about 6 eyeshadow crayons/ creams. She mentioned how they all broke off the stick or crumbled . She stated it’s “ really hard to make a great eyeshadow stick “ I always thought it meant it was not made well ( VB STICKS IMO) but I think like the quads are like that due to being light with cream/ powder consistency ? Haven’t tried these , but the blue looks beautiful . Thx! ( I saw THE NEECESSAIRE) released a body vitc on their website yesterday . Looks nice, but priced high . Hello to the pup 🎉🎉

This is an intersting formula in that it almost seems like pie crust dough to me, in terms of how it pulls apart but can be patted back together. It is an unusual texture, but I would not say that there is a formula problem here, as far as I have experienced or heard from other people. I do think there was a packaging failure in that the inserts with the shadows were not glued into the container - I don't think that my shadow would have broken if it hadn't fallen on the floor as a result of not being glued in. I think I will try out a lot of different eyeshadow sticks and see how they do for me. It does seem harder than one might think to make a good one. I would be willing to try Necessaire Vitamin C but I don't know that I really need that very much. Maybe if I wait for a while, I can get it as part of a sale. Thanks for your comments! ❤

I had a similar experience in that I stopped wearing sunscreen because I thought I was developing an allergy to mineral filters as well. Then I saw Lab Muffin Beauty Science's video on these hidden chemical filters being added (even to most natural/kids/baby sunscreens), and it made sense! Yes, the ones I had a reaction to did contain butyloctyl/tridecyl salicylate. I was even willing to pay more but high-end ones like Tatcha, Josh Rosebroook, SkinCeuticals... They've all added these boosters! I have been using the DRMTLGY tinted physical SPF without any issues. It is a bit too shiny for me, so I do not use moisturizer underneath, and I use a setting powder on top. I'm very happy, and now I use sunscreen again every day! I think hybrid/chemical sunscreens are great for those who can tolerate them, but my issue is when sunscreens are marketed as 100% mineral and they have these chemical filters/boosters added. It cost me time, money, skin irritation, and a few months of not wearing aunscreen before i found out what was actually happening. For those like me allergic to fragrance and with very sensitive skin, it makes finding products I can use more difficult when companies aren't transparent with their ingredients. Thank you for your research and honesty! Your videos are very helpful!!

Thanks so much for sharing information on the sunscreen that has worked for you - hopefully I can give that one a try sometime soon. I totally agree with all your comments about the boosters. The fact that it is "clean beauty" companies (including Credo, Kosas, Ilia, W3LL People, Mad Hippie, Bloom Effects and Tower 28) that have been especially misleading in how they are promoting these products ie especially disappointing to me. I think that it's fine for companies to make sunscreens with these ingredients if they choose, but they need to be transparent about it! It's very disrespectful of their core customers' sensitivities and general health that they haven't been. 💗

Do you think the Necessaire SPF would work well in cooler months on the face under makeup? It’s so exciting no BoS!
@lisapetrison-beautyreviews
@lisapetrison-beautyreviews 23 күн бұрын
This is a pretty moisturizing formula and so I think that whether it would work under makeup would depend on how dry your skin is as well as how much you put on. I do think that these are pretty high-quality moisturizing ingredients that might work for me (even though I am very picky about what I put on my face) instead of a daytime moisturizer in winter when my face is drier. I think that I would have to put it on and then wait a while for it to sink in before adding makeup, even if so. And I do think the recommended 1/4 teaspoon for just the face to get SPF30 might be a lot of moisturizer even for people with dry skin. Eventually I am going to go back and compare the sunscreens that have been okay for me under foundation, to see how they do, and so will report back. Thanks much for your comment! ❤

I really like Necessaire products. I've tried the deodorant (I would also compare it to kosas), body wash and the original hand cream (I think they have reformulated since, or it's just not on Sephora Canada anymore) The new one is more $ than I'm willing to pay right now. I love the exfoliating bar, I find the texture very satisfying, I would use it everyday but the price would be too high using it that way. Great as treat, once in a while, and I will probably buy the multipack to save a few dollars next time. I'm excited for the sunscreen though. When I need more it will be my first choice.
