Thank you for sharing so much information about how you breed your sheep! I’m hoping to get some sheep in the next few years and I’m absorbing all the knowledge I can before then so I am prepared to care for them properly. Your videos are immensely helpful. Thank you so much! 🙏🏽💗🐑🧶

I had been told (by the person I bought my wheel from) that you can splice the band ((with cutting and heating, I believe it was) and tighten that way. For when the band becomes stretched.

Less crimp but lower micron #... fascinating. Not that I know diddly about this, but I would have assumed that the higher the crimp, the lower the micron #.
@bathshebamills436022 сағат бұрын
High crimp has always meant low micron. Over in NZ where I live, I can and do get 12.5 Micron Merino, which is low micron, and the crimp structure is very high, like, just so much fine crimp, it's just beautiful.

So cute the lambs running back and forth! But so sad about the one with the sores. Though it reminds me, can sheep get eczema?

You are the most organized sheep person I have encountered. My sheep friends here in Riverton, Wyoming , in the late 90’s and early in this century, were primitive compared to your set up. We made use of pallets and baling twine for lambing jugs. I was fortunate to have some really good mentors here. Including Colleen Jennings, Barb Burrows, Kathy Urbigkit , Nan Slingerland and several others. We were blessed for many years to have a shearer who specialized in spinning fleeces. He could gather up a fleece, and from his shearing shed, would throw the fleece onto the skirting table and it would land perfect for skirting. He seldom had second cuts. Appreciated a great fleece. Unfortunately, he quit the business. Tatiana has a fleece I would have loved to spin. Tatiana was the Fairy Queen in A Midsummers Nights Dream. One of Shakespeare’s comedies.
