Thank you so much for the review! We are homeschooling our grandchildren! This is our second time around and I love all the new things! We have a third grader who wants to do Astronomy, ninth grade who chose Land Animals, and tenth grade for Anatomy! Are there any videos or good KZfaq Channels that have engaging creation science videos you can recommend! It’s a lot when they are on three different curriculums but we like to give them a choice because they learn much better!

Unrelated but I heard about Dianne Craft a month ago. Came to KZfaq to see if I could find anything and your video popped up. There’s not much out there as far as videos by homeschooling Moms. Anyway I am beyond grateful, it was immediate. It took no time for him to memorize the sight words. We are still reading through our first book. It’s like he’s a genius that just needed what would work for him. The right brain flashcards were it. Thanks for sharing your families journey.

I noticed the transition of planing, seeing the future, etc!!! I found it’s a balance of learning independence and getting alongside!!! I found I’m not allowed to ask my twins how much they have done so I check in monthly unless I see issues with homeschooling but I can parent in different ways!!! I keep quizzing them and discuss the content of their curriculum!!! I plan alongside my older kids sometimes so they can see how I plan!!! Then I can give them more freedom but know they plan!!! I love my older kids using online courses!!! I see the teachers passion come thru into my kids!!! They get passionate as well!!!

Do you have a video on how you set up an mp3 player to play Phonetic Zoo Audio or your own audio? I want to switch to Phonetic Zoo but feel we need to do All About Spelling 3 first. I recorded myself reading the words for AAS 2 at the end of the year and it went SO well. I just recorded myself on the iPad though. (I’m also confused on how to buy the audio for Phonetic Zoo haha. I found tons of the books at our local homeschool store and they have CDs but I’d rather have audio files.) My son also has a Yoto player so I wonder if that could be used instead of an mp3 player? But I’m not sure how he’d know what lesson he’s on. I wasn’t sure if that showed up on an mp3 player screen or how that worked.
@LifeintheMundaneКүн бұрын
I don't have a specific video on how I set it up but I just buy the digital file from IEW and download it on my computure then plug in the mp3 player and drag and drop the files over. They do show the lesson titles so its easy to find your place. the instructions on the mp3 player are pretty easy to follow.

Hi! Thank you for the review. If I am teaching all 3 of my children (different ages and levels) does each child need their own cards and boxes?

Not necessarily although there were times I did do that. Here is a video I made with tips for using the program with mulitiple kids that might help kzfaq.info/get/bejne/d8qddJeFyqidhqM.htmlsi=edIY6x1I-P7M4lQl

Thank you so much for this knowledge. I am entering into homeschooling my 5 year old son, and even though I don't have to apply for an intent until next year, I've still been trying to have all the things prepared. Coming up with a name has been challenging, but you're so helpful in breaking it down. Also, I appreciate the NC resource link, as I reside in NC

I'm really interested in this particular volume of this series but we haven't done the others. Another reviewer said we really should do the others first. What do you think about doing them out of order since you've gone through them all?
@LifeintheMundane2 күн бұрын
I personally would recommend going through them in order as it builds on the foundations layer in prior books but hypothetically you could go out of order.

I have 11 kids, 10 of which can participate in these studies, so I just would LOVE a discounted family bundle for each of the studies. It’s $45 per study for us for 1 month of material to print myself… hard to do 1 study a month!
@LifeintheMundane2 күн бұрын
You may want to try doing it as a group. You can get the teachers guide and do the study all together instead of getting each kid there own. You also could possibly reach out to the company and see if they ever offer bulk discounts. Im not sure if they do but it’s worth an ask.

Can you tell me more about the info I may want to edit in the last one? Thanks!
@LifeintheMundaneКүн бұрын
Yes, so each page has lots of pictures and information. Some of them may not be deemed inappropriate attire (a friend of mine sharpied over it) also it covers a wide variety of famous people some don't like their kids to read on. I used it with my older kids so I didn't need to edit as much we just had conversations about what came up and we did not read every section on every page so most of the time we just chose to look up other info on the page.

@Life in the Mundane do you know anyone that might have any information regarding the Advance Art Self-Pacs Grades 9-12 for Accelerated Christian Education. We are trying to find the best art fundamentals to help our daughter. Our main concern is Art fundamentals for Anatomy. Looking for something that is more modest than what seems to be the "normal" for art students. Thank you. Not sure where to go for help. 😔
@LifeintheMundane2 күн бұрын
We have not done any female anatomy art but we did this one for men and it was modest and very helpful in building my son’s skills. He obviously did it before highschool but it’s the type of course that can be as advanced or simple as you want kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nbCXmZurp9zeo5c.htmlsi=9j9KQdln_KUwc_zd What he is using this next year for highschool is Artistic Pursuits artisticpursuits.com/9-12th-high-school

How do you choose your read aloud books for each year?
@LifeintheMundaneКүн бұрын
During the school year, we select one read-aloud book for each history unit, which lasts about 4-6 weeks. We rely on the recommended read-aloud list from Biblioplan. Then during Christmas time and the summer months we pick non history related read alouds and I get recommendations from friends here on youtube or from places like "honey for a childs heart" book or Read aloud revival book lists

Is all about reading considered a phonics program or ELA as well? My daughter is dyslexic and she had a hard time with explode the code. We purchased all about reading and will start it in a few days. If it’s not an ELA I was considering Christian light or Lifepac. But I am not sure if there is anything else that may work better.
