@@operationoverhaul Thanks, I have a 2013 GS450h mint condition 80,000 miles. I’m not sure it’s from racing around a lot but the hybrid battery display never indicates 100% anymore, always one digit from 100% full. Also the battery that turns the car on can’t be left sitting for more than two days or it will die. Do you know of a bigger more powerful battery that will hold a charge longer than the OME battery. Im not sure about your demographics whether or not you’re in America but I am in America I that at all matters as far as parts availability.

@@TheFriendlyPsychopath. I live in South Carolina, so I am in America as well. If it is draining down enough to the point that it is dying overnight on the 12v battery then you have a parasitic draw somewhere. Even if you put a battery with more CCA in it, the battery would still die in the same amount of time. As far as the hybrid battery, I have only every seen one go full 100% charge once on any hybrid car. They normally will not let them get to the 100% mark because it has a battery sensor/ecm that will not allow them to get to that point because it can cause over charging then the battery temperatures will rise causing a risk of explosion to the battery.

@@operationoverhaul Okay good (on the hybrid battery), sometimes it does go to 100 but rarely and not for long. I trouble shot for a parasitic draw, I keep the map display off and I drive the car long enough for the alternator to recharge the battery. As long as I drive the car every other day there's no problem. I was letting the car sit for up to 4 maybe sometimes 5 days then go to start it and it will be just lights blinking.

had a mechanic do motor mounts because I had a back injury.. he left the damn plug off the back of that AC pump.. Turns out with that disconnected, the clutch will engage however no cold air.. I'm assuming that is some type of pressure switch or valve that stops the flow of freon? I got it connected however it was after I pulled the lines and discharged the system.. The guy said to bring it in and he will do the draw down and 1234yf charge for free.. this is why i have trust issues with 'mechanics'..

Why you was checking it after removing all of this did you take something and rotate the engine just a little bit on every cylinder to make sure they was all closed because one or two could be closed the other ones could be open are vice versa I don't think all of them is closed the exact same on everyone at the same time

I actually did rotate it over while the leak down gauge was on it to ensure that the valves were fully seated. I have videos up of the head gasket and head fix. The machine shop performed a pressure test on it and they found that cylinder to have leaks on all of the valves actually but the intake valves were worse.

But if the belt is in good condition you are right, you can always walk them off just like you put them on.

Question? My kids car has rattle on cold start up, plus hard to start sometimes. Once started then rattle goes away after it idles a few seconds. You mentioned at 8 min 49 in the first video, part 1, You explained briefly almost the same problem my kids 2014 C250 has. My question is I understand the timing chain and gears are possibly worn. However, it alerts me hearing the rattle that the oil pump is not pumping enough oil on a cold start up? That's what is sounds like to me which has me concerned. Is this rattle oil pump related or is the rattle a usual cause because of a worn timing chain and gear, reason for the rattle? To me like I said it sounds like an engine starting for the first time after you change your oil. However, Cam position sensor codes did blow and turned off. So can you please give me your thought and If the oil pump is going bad and where is that oil pump even located? Any Info you would be kind enough to supply would be greatly appreciated? Also this is a great video thank you for posting it.
@operationoverhaul
@operationoverhaul 5 күн бұрын
The rattle you are hearing is more than likely the tensioner rattling until pressure is applied. From my experience, on a oil pump rattle you would get the rattling coming from the oil pan area and normally there is metal in the oil and the oil pressure would be off or the the oil pressure light would illuminate.

Interesting video. I may try this one. I’ve been having issues where the transmission will get to around 4k rpm in fourth gear, then shoot up and over rev. If I don’t let off accelerator, it’ll go in limp mode. But when I take it easy it always shifts right. That said, I’ve heard of so many different fixes for these and one HUGE one that I’ve fixed is the “overheating” transmission issue. For this I simply removed the inline thermostat coming from the transmission oil cooler. When I removed the thermostat it was stuck shut. With it removed the transmission stays nice and cool. Tbh, I believe this is the root problem to all the issues in this model transmission. If you can catch it soon enough, you won’t have all these other issues.

Your welcome. One of two ways. 1) Do the entire job by the book and remove the oil pan and all of that stuff then just make sure the marks are lined up when putting the chain back on or 2) you can get a piece of metal solid square stock (preferably aluminum) roughly 1/2" thick and grind it to a point so you can stick it between the tensioner and block. I don't suggest method two as it can/will mess up something if not done correctly and safely. If you, and anyone reading this, decide to go that route just remember I have never done it that way nor would I ever. Just do which ever way you are doing it at your own risk. I suggest getting the tools and doing it that way. I know they are not cheap but I would rather spend the money on the tools now rather than destroy an engine and spend more that way. Currently having problems with my 14 Silverado ac is cold sometimes then just starts blowing warm/cool air not cold. Pressure is good high and low pressure switch is testing good replaced relay all blend doors are working correctly and no codes you can hear the clutch working but has a very slight rattling noise. But it’s always done this. Any ideas what to test next Thanks

Does it get cooler when you ate driving and hotter when at a stop?
