Evoke 20 is not reference speaker and I strongly belive it is better match with MF because of MF slightly boosted upper trebble and dynoudio treblle roll of. However thank you for video, is helpfull. Which one would you choose?

The MA's sound too delicate on energetic material.

I know KEF keeps winning all kinds of awards, but they so often sound unengaging and sterile to me.

The Dyn's are a little more subtle with percussion (snares sound farther back), but the midrange quality is quite similar. I'm thinking of getting a pair of the Dali's to compare to Triangle BR03's.

DALI Oberon 3 sans hésiter pour sa richesse harmonique et sa douceur ainsi que la différenciation des timbres. Ce n'est que mon avis mais pour moi une évidence.

Dynaudio does a superior job of reproducing cymbals. The Monitor Audio’s rendering of cymbals hurts my ears. As a drummer and cymbal collector for decades, I know what real percussion instruments sound like.

Interesting take, but yes, that's how they sounded in person, too. Even more so if you pair the Dynos to an amps that's better suited - the Exposure didn't drive them really well.

Hegel synergies well with KEF. Dynaudio needs a more livelier and dynamic amplifiers to sizzle it up a bit. But I always like the neutral, balanced and smooth sound of Dynaudios.

It’s clear from the first tract that the Evoke 20 has a rolled off treble. It’s like they put a veil over it.

Really nice warm sound from Dynaudio, with KEF possibility of fatigue setting in after long sessions...

Die Dynaudio sind in den Höhen etwas nervig. Nicht mein Ding. Bei hoher Lautstärke bevorzuge ich die Dänin.

Nice. I own the ELAC Uni-fi series, and I have to say that I actually prefer the signature of the Dynaudio Evokes. I'd read the Reference series were to "relaxed" for most people. My Uni-fi UF5's and UB52's are certainly more lively than these Reference line. I'll have to research Dynaudio next time I'm shopping for speakers.

Bass on SP40 seems more controlled and highs less sharp/annoying than MA Gold 100, but MA Gold 100 has the upper hand in the rock track (in my opinion)

Interesting. I felt the Dynaudio speakers were quite shrill. The Elacs had more depth snd warmth. Sorry.

Actually the MF seems to me clearer while fuller, notably on the bass and medium bass range and softer on the high medium. These differences apply pleasantly on every song of your test. So to my taste, i'd go with it rather than the other. But it's all dependent on the system I guess. Kudos for the video!

Good job. Close call. I'd go with the MA's purely because they're clearly better suited to rock music. If I was a jazz boy, it'd be the Dynaudio. However, it's not exactly apples to apples. The MA's to Evoke 20's would be fairer. Btw I absolutely love your choice of demo tracks.
@adnankilicАй бұрын
Both speakers are very successful when listened to on their own. The MA body is strong and balanced. But the middle parts are a little missing. The DA parts play very accurately. There are more middle parts compared to the MA. If they ask me which one to buy, after this video, my hope is Dynaudio.🎉

WOW! This video made clear that the S40 is something special especially for Rock and Metal music. It sounds so full, warm but nonetheless very detailed in the mid-range. I own a pair myself and hearing this makes me feel confident I have made the right decision!

I listened blind for several cuts then read the data as to which was playing. Blind my first preference was the Hegel. That said I noticed much better and slightly more forward treble and definition on the Sugden cuts . This was my results though after several plays and doing cuts mixed and blind, Sugden for grip, transparency and ballanced soundscapes. Hegel if you like a more full bottom end and darkness. I came to prefer the Sugden sound just slightly.

The volume is different huh, the audiolab is slightly louder than Cambridge, so people are going to like audiolab more.
@georgedomseАй бұрын
I really wish people would care to read the descriptions, comments etcetc before they comment. This would spare them looking dumb and me a lot of explaining. EVERY SINGLE ONE of my videos are volume matched at 1kHz, being the frequency least affected by my room. If you care about music and sound in general you'll know, that this does not mean anything though, because perceived volume depends a lot on the EQ curve of the components in question. Every single amp, speaker etc that has more mids (2.5kHz to 8kHz, approximately) will SOUND louder but still have the same measured dB value. This is how all of music mixing works and has worked for a century. This is how you mix your instuments in a band setting. So no, one is not louder than the other; it just has a different frequency response, and this is EXACTLY what you would want to hear from a comparison video.
