I like how you both touched on the Bible and astrology. The Bible is riddled with astrological symbolism. Moreover the Tarot is connected to both. For example, the following Bible passage is literally describing illustrations on the Wheel of Fortune tarot card: Ezekiel 10:13 “As for the wheels, it was cried unto them in my hearing O wheel” Ezekiel 10:14 “And everyone had four faces: the first face was the face of a cherub, and the second face was the face of a man, and the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle” The cherub is Matthew (Aquarius, winter) The man/bull is Luke (Taurus, spring) The lion is Mark (Leo, summer) The eagle is John (Scorpio, autumn) Just scraping the surface really.

I was in my bedroom of my old house which was on a relatively old piece of land. Anyway I used to smoke and I had been smoking, anyway a huge puff of smoke exited my body, lungs, just kept coming out of my mouth. This unusually large puff of smoke then changed from a dark mass of smoke into what looked like a " modem grey alien " except for the two little antenna on the head, anyway what come to mind was a hopi ant person? 🤷‍♂️ We looked at each other for a few minutes before it de materialized ??? I wasn't scared just intrigued. This is not the only humanoid I've seen ie apart from humans I have seen two other different kinds of beings... Great channel!

Awesome, really enjoyed that. Glad you found that area. When I was there last year I wasn't sure if I'd found the right area, but there was something about it that I couldn't explain. I consider myself as sensitive as a brick, but even I could feel something in the air there. A vibe that felt a little bit uncomfortable. Like I was being watched closely from the woods. I'm keen to get back there on the next trip over.

Really enjoyed this revisit and everyone’s experiences 😍 Something I noticed and wonder if that’s something any of you have looked into, was the possibility of many portals/ley lines in that swampy area. the way the trees curve and shape around energy ‘portals’ - there seemed a lot of them in that area but could be just the way it was filmed 🤷‍♀️ 🤓

Thanks would be good to work out the ley lines. I think Dan Green may have covered this in his essay in the book - The Wollaton Gnomes - A Fairy Mystery. I do know that they dowsed around the park but I think they were at the other end of the park. Also those ‘trees’ are actually rhododendrons which is why they are shaped that way. Not the kids would have referred to them as trees too. They make for interesting shapes!

Wonderful stuff. We do perceive things through our own cultural lens. I had a short but odd experience in an old building in North Yorkshire a few years back, that I'd mentally coded as a possible ghost haunting, but I have come to wonder if my forebears would have described a similar experience as a boggle / boggart!

I had the tour of the cellar areas of the Hall, by the same tour guide. I had no idea it was the anniversary of the gnome encounter. I was still in Nottingham on Saturday, visiting the Arboretum...TBH, I found that a more liminal place 🤔

Interestingly, it wasn't native to the UK 🤔. Stupidly, I didn't take a photo of it 😒. Yes, the Arboretum had a slight strangeness to it in parts...it honestly felt creepier than Wollaton 🤷. Has anyone ever used an EMF reader around the swamp at all? Or dowsed in there?

I was only a child in the 1970's in Belgium but I have seen similar things such as a man with long silvery beard surrounded by children. You are right Jo children seem more open to these experiences. Mine continued into adulthood. That wall in the photograph at night reminds me of the old wall outside Forty Hall estate here in Enfield, Hertfordshire. Is the well in Wollaton also called the caves? The Hollywood movie "Dark Night" was also filmed in the caves of Wollaton estate. There was probably something that attracted the location manager to that location. Maybe it was the same entity that followed you Jo. I worked as an Extra in the subsequent "Dark Night Rises" but not at that location. After reading some of your replies here Jo and receiving an automated email today i know you are quite busy at the moment. Just to let you know I have also send you an email today.

I remember something which happened to me in childhood, I would have been about 3 or 4 years old and myself and some other boys dug a small tunnel into the side of an old embankment near to where I used to live, it was summer time and I remember later that evening as the sun was setting looking into this small dugout and it seemed to go a lot further back into the embankment than had initially been made, there was a red glow at the back, I always thought this may have been a glow cast by the setting Sun and suddenly a face with a mask on looked at me from the back of this tunnel as I remember this, it seemed to 'peep out' from around a corner at the back and I ran off. I remember thinking at the time that it was Spider Man I don't know why though. Afterwards some of the adults collapsed this tunnel telling us that it wasn't safe for children to play in there.

A few days ago, my grandmother visited her husband's grave Someone put twigs on the grave, she didn't like them very much, so she took them home to throw them away (she could have done it right away but for some reason she took them home) In the evening, she was woken up by voices coming from the kitchen. where she left the twigs she took she went to check who it was and she heard voices coming from the branches!! The discussion was strange and incomprehensible, like two quarreling squirrels :D from a Disney cartoon she threw the twigs out the window and the discussion ended I wonder what it could have been? The spirits of dead people would speak an understandable language and if grandma had something wrong with her head and the voices were only in her head, they wouldn't stop after throwing the twigs out the window

I am surprised that St. Bernadette from Lourdes, a place which is located in the Cathar region, didn’t come up in the interview. I would have loved to have your thoughts on her visions of The Immaculate Conception/Virgin Mary. Bernadette was young (14), from a humble background, she was even illiterate. She spoke patois (a rural dialect of French) and no Latin. The lady she saw in her visions was white (with a light blue sash though. A colour which is often connected to Mother Mary). There was water connected to the event (a spring which Bernadette uncovered herself, and which till this day is said to have healing powers. Although Bernadette herself insisted all her life that your faith would heal you - not the water alone. I have my own thoughts on her experiences. Firstly, I do NOT believe that Bernadette was a hoax! Her story never changed although she was very closely interrogated - often very unkindly. I think the apparitions were of The Virgin Mary, AND of some pre-Christian entity - at the same time (i.e that it is somehow the same). I have my own theory that some life crisis may have spurred the spiritual experiences of Bernadette. Something that opened her to the “eternal” for a lack of a better name. She had the first apparition while out gathering firewood. Perhaps she had been assaulted and even raped that day or another day previously when carrying out that task in the woods. She may not even have had words nor an understanding of “rape”. The shock may have created the possibility of her seeing the visions. Or she simply saw the visions without having had a personal crisis before the first event at all. She became a nun which is interesting. She remained humble even after she joined the nuns. The photos of her are lovely. She looks like such a sweet person. Her gaze is strong. She got the church built in Lourdes, which the apparition repeatedly requested. It’s impressive that she persevered. Because she was often not believed nor was she universally respected. Thank you for the interview - it got me thinking - which you can see from the above!

Hello- not sure if you've covered the Little Blue Man of Studham Common (1967) on the podcast before, but there's a remarkable feature here in that the teacher also separated the children and asked them to recount the story independent of one another. Perhaps what links these accounts is the open-mindedness of the adult the children approached: how many more stories have been lost because kids were told to stop "telling lies" or "you must have imagined it"!

Hi Jo- just wanted to leave a comment as I've been a listener to your podcast for a while now, mostly on Apple podcasts but I can't leave a comment there! As always it's wonderful to hear people's personal experiences of the fortean/paranormal/fey or whatever label we find useful for the "high strangeness" that often circumvents rational explanation... but today i especially enjoyed the conversation you and Dr Rushton had *around* his experience(s). This was both on a "big picture" level (i.e. connecting the tor experience with those of others on the podcast, and the broader context of phenomena globally) but also on a personal level for Neil. I got the impression that he may have found the conversation you had healing. I hope that process continues for him. Back to the big picture stuff, I've been diving into a lot of UFO/ET lore and am becoming increasingly convinced that the crossover with other supernatural experiences is more than coincidental. Specific to this podcast, the description of whistling to fey reminded me of how "tall whites" have been described as communicating. "Tall Whites" are entities that appear sporadically in American UFO/ET narratives, and the descriptions offered by experiencers (I have no direct knowledge of this!) are very fey-like in or even similar to Tolkien's elves. Note these so-called tall whites are distinct entities to the "nordics" that also appear in experiencers' accounts. Apologies for the long comment... but I also want to note that you mentioned the Marian visions at Garabandal. Dian Walsh Pasulka talks at length about these incidents in her excellent book AMERICAN COSMIC, which looks at UFOLOGY through the lens of religious studies- I highly recommend! To square the circle, her research on that topic draws primarily from the prior scholarship of Jacques Vallee's "Passport to Magonia", which slso makes strong connection between folklore ancient and more recent and contemporary ufology! Phew! I needed to get that out. Thank you for a great podcast and another wonderful guest.

"Magic will return to the world when truth returns" was quoted by a fae in a girl's dream in one of Scary Fairy Godmother's videos titled Fairy Dreams - Six Encounters With Fairies In Dreams. Also a female KZfaqr named Solar Glow Meditations asked if Hogwarts, fairies, mermaids, sirens and dragons were real and her spirit guide said yes through her dowsing rods, I think she's authentic because she shows genuine confusion, interest, and surprise to the answers she receives. I thought this was surprising then I found out J. K. Rowling practices meditation and I wondered if maybe she saw something or learned something while meditating. It would also explain why it's common for people to see fae or elves run through walls, doors, and objects then disappear or why people who find tunnels of vegetation and go through them end up in an alternate reality or the fae realm. I think there are hidden doorways or Jumpgates between our realm and the other realms like Harry Potter that you can walk through like on walls or in objects.
