I've been turned down twice even though their own doctors stated I was unable to work. They sent me 4 payments in June 2023 and then in Aug 2023 they cut me off and I got a rejection letter. I have severe social anxiety, deep depression and learning problems, I only completed the 6th grade. My girlfriend wrote this for me cause I can't write or spell very well. Well we went online and filed a reconsideration which after about 11 months I got my rejection letter about 3 weeks ago. We are getting ready to file an appeal after we get a few letters in. He can't even go outside, he has a trash bag taped over our bedroom window and will stay in there for days. He can't even go to his doctors appointments, he'll actually breaks down and will cry if he thinks he has to go outside. His 56 years old, we have no idea what to do.

I can't keep going to medical appointments if my money is cut, it cost me $40 just to walk into a doctor's office. The only option they are offering me is suicide. That's not a good option but I now see it as reality.

It's so hard going from medicaid while waiting for approval which is totally free healthcare to medicare after approval which requires you to pay 20% for everything which is a huge sum as far as medical bills are concerned. So it's been very hard to continue going to doctors

What does it mean when they say I can get a cash allowance until my checks start coming in?Do I have to pay it back and how much would the cash allowance be?

They say there isn't supposed to be anyone "against" you in these hearings, but the VE definitely was. He completely ignored the symptoms and needs I was claiming and tried to say I could work several jobs.

FAIR???? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 You say presenting new evidence is not fair to the prior judge. Oh cry me a river and then tell me one, JUST ONE thing that is at all ever fair to us clients out here. I'll wait.

Discuss things claimants DO NOT know. Like that the whole SSA system is BROKEN, Shut-Down, Rigged, how the SSA sits on claimants' appeal and does absolutely nothing to schedule hearing at all appeal level...Etc.

Yeah or talk about how they string you along for YEARS AND YEARS and make you jump through hoops, humiliate you and treat you like a lying criminal an spit in your face over and over as you lose everything you ever worked for. Let's talk about how they just hand it over to people that shouldn't even be in our country. Talk about how there is no rhyme or reason to a judges decision making and they can approve or deny based just on what side of the bed they woke up on that day as they laugh at objective evidence and NEVER be held accountable for it as the claimant gives up and ends their own life. Hey how bout the death toll and suicide numbers of Americans who are crapped on by this system? Lets talk about that.

I worked 45 years and was 62 when I won my case. Immediately after I left the court room Social Security told me I would have to wait years before I get a payment unless I signed a document and waited till I was Full retirement age. Is this a legal legitimate act? I was never sent my paperwork as if it was some kind of a scam being pulled on me.

This was so interesting. It's a wonder to me why these investigative reports are allowed to be so biased, as you pointed out. Why are the investigators not required to be neutral in their observations? The judge said this isn't a case where anyone is "against" you, it's just supposed to be an inquisition. Well that's obviously not true

i hear the law does help people at age 50. How does it help someone on benefits keep them?
@evansdisability16 күн бұрын
Great question. The law does help people at age 50 keep their benefits if you are ever under a CDR (Continuing Disability Review) - the 50 (or 50 plus) depending on your age - category will apply when SSA is reviewing your case. First, if someone is under the age of 50, SSA can ask the questoin if there is ANY job in the USA that exists in significant numbers that a claimant can do. (ANY JOB - meaning, even if you were a Medical Doctor, and if you're under 50 - if that Medical Doctor can be a parking lot attendant (full-time) then the person under 50 will not be considered disabled. However, when someone is over the age of 50 - they look at the claimants past relevant work, they look at the claimant maximum physical capacity and they look at if there are transferable skills from that claimants past relevant work into the persons maximum physical capacity. I hope this helps answer your question. The topic of transferable skills is one of the more difficult ones for our new lawyers to learn.

If I got a less favorable onset date I would just keep my big mouth shut and deal with it considering they could review and find no disability or at least not as severe as they want it to be from one or multiple conditions mental, physical or may a mix of both. Just remember that multiple impairments can be disabling in a lot of circumstances.
