I don't really agree that metroid is "undercooked," to be honest

Well, it's been 6 years since this video was released, and no news about F-Zero. How's about we just declare F-Zero to be a dead franchise? I had a lot of fun times with F-Zero GX, the best entry in the series, but the folks at Nintendo clearly won't go back to this series. If they wanted to make a new F-Zero title, then they would've made one by now. That's what SSB is for. SSB isn't just meant to be a fun fighting game series. It's also a dumping ground for defunct Nintendo series like F-Zero, Earthbound/Mother, and Star Fox. With SSB, they won't be completely forgotten.

These games were a waste of time. Unlike my favorite ones, both Pokémon and Puyo Puyo Tetris have done a spectacular job! I wish they have new games in the future.

Fusion held your hand too much. Being an OG gamer from the beginning, it was hard to want to play fusion after the original metroid and super metroid.

Just finished Fusion a few days ago, so excited to start dread! Which is the sequel to Fusion.

Five years since this video and still no new Star Fox.

I played metroid dread, and just played this game, I have to say I had more fun playing this game than I did Dread

Nintendo really only has Mario, Zelda and Pokémon! All the other franchises are dead or slowly dying! A lot of the original crew from early 80’s is dead or not at Nintendo anymore!

I played fusion as my 1st Metroid game and I was lost on most of the stuff cuz I’m dumb and some were hard like the super bomb underwater

Fusion is a masterpiece. I beat it at least 5-6 dozen times as a kid and explored so much. I haven't broken my cartridge out in a couple years. So now seems a good time.

This video is currently 5 years old and not even a peep of a new game. Not even a mention of it at its own recent 30th anniversary!

To this day, the SA-X remains as the scariest enemy I've ever had to deal with.

Honestly, it was my first run in with the franchise so it holds a very special place in my heart.

Fusion wanted to explain the universe, they did the unexpected instead of the expected. We want another Super Metroid that's not possible lighting doesn't strike in a bottle twice.

Late to the party, but in Fusion it is revealed that Adam Malkovich is already dead by the AI Adam. The player learns this about 7 to 8 years later during the Events from OTHER M. It was always clear that Adam was dead, but it also left a sort of dread hanging. This week, the Front Mission Remake came out and players who know the story of FM also know where I am an going with this. FM has the ---- --- --- SPOILER --- --- --- usage of ACTUAL COMBAT PILOT BRAINS transformed into CPUs to assist the pilot of the Wanzer in their tactical decisions and analysis. THIS concept is very old in the japanese SciFi Franchise. So it is easy to imagine that the G-FED made AI Duplicates of their greatest minds and used them as an AI Support System.

Fusion is just not very well designed, imo. There's just too many gameplay elements that took a backslide.

14:50 Actually if they wanted to play it safe they wouldn't have made a 1,5. They would have just made a straight up port. The GBA was full of SNES ports.

12:30 I can understand why though as there already was mounting pushback against the FPS direction of prime and they were fully aware of the increased linearity. So maybe they thought it was best to keep it safe with the upgrades to make sure old fans wouldn't feel too alienated.

11:00 Overly open games though are not a great fit for handhelds as it's very easy to get lost in it which is a problem Metroid II suffered from a lot.

Recently beat Super Metroid (ps, it was amazing). Fusion is still my favorite 2D Metroid game. It’s shocking to see it’s still an unpopular opinion but the soundtrack alone is one of the best ones. The environment is fun, sequence breaking really isn’t something I need in a game, I participated in it during my run on Super Metroid, but I think Fusion doesn’t get enough love. And y’all see Dread. Fusion laid the foundation to that

So basically, Nintendo refused to keep the core gameplay of star fox 64, refused to learn their lesson, and then blamed the franchise. That’s so crazy to me.

4 years and still nothing

Im not a big nintendo guy or a racing game guy either, but f zero gx is something special man. Literally one of the best games every made, i remember what got me to download it was reading a comment about how it was the "dark souls of racing games" underneath some other video on how hard the game is. They arent lying, and its so satisfying, i would be crazy lit if they made a new one at 144hz with modern graphics, id get a new console just to play it

i honestly don’t get the whole “we need to wait for a good idea or controller that would suit fzero” explanation. i honestly believe they gave up on the franchise. you’re telling me NO ONE at nintendo has thought of something good all these years? highly doubt it, especially with how successful the switch is. you’d think they’d be eager to revive the franchise as almost anything on the switch does well in sales. Awesome video though. Some of the stuff i hadn’t heard of til watching. Hope you are well!

Ever since i played it, fusion has been my favourite 2d metroid game. I'd compare it to super or something but really thats the great thing about fusion, it feels like its own thing. Maybe some people dont like that thing, but i like story games and darker atmospheres, both this game has. My favourite metroid in general is prime 2 which also has a dark atmosphere and more focus on story than other games.

Metroid dread was such a massive success. I really hope we hear some news about prime 4 this year.

I don't get how they never saw what made SNES and N64 starfox so good was the on rails game play. The all range mode always felt so clunky and was never as fun. But they kept pushing it with gimmicks and now it seems star fox is going the way of fzero. It's my favorite franchise by them. Sad its likely they'll not do another one after zero

Id love to have a new f-zero for the switch I got into the game late last year when i had a go on my snes classic to the i got maximum velocity for the gba and i now have f zero x for n64

if they aren't gonna make a new F-Zero they should do an HD remaster or a remake the way they're doing with Advance Wars

I kind of agree w/ miyamoto. it seems like gameplay-wise gx took f-zero about as far as it was going to go.
