Did you need to do anything special to the retail rom to get it to work on the ndev?

Yeah you need to use a tool to resign a rom for debug, retail signed roms will not work. rvthtool is what i used and the only known tool to do it.

hey there! due to where I live I can't seem to get that battery shipped to my location. the only ones I can find are 4 mm thick. do you reckon they'd fit? someone else told me it might be tootm thick

Do you recommend using a phone charger or something like a nintendo switch charger? I dont want to overcharge the ds lite.

The charging will be cut off from the DS itself when its full and is not dependent on the power supply used. It needs to be a power supply that will provide 5v regardless of the port asking for 5v via capacitors or a PD chip. Unlike in this video 5v SHOULD be requested via resistors on the CC1 and CC2 pins or via a PD chip, doing it that way will work with most if not all smart charges while this way works more like the old way before usb-c standards.

So to anyone reading. There are new updated tools launched and this should work for V1, V2, V3, V4 and V5. I just finished doing my very first digimon Color device V5 and its now fully in English!! Loving it. Hardest thing was getting the correct driver for the USB device. After that was sorted it was plain sailing. You must modify the file names of the replacement english sprites as each divice can have a different number or order.

the tool now supports just passing a device version which includes pen color's from what it seems

Looks like sprite tool has had a lot of upgrades since you made the video and containing presents now? Haven't got my usb tool yet but been looking into it, maby it's more simple now? Would love to see a new video uploaded using the latest versions or at least hear your input for the new updated tool and v5, the main thing that confused me was the offset number, what's that for and where did you find it, it's clearly different between V1 and V2.

@@zarcha just worked it all out on the latest versions of the software for my V5 model which should be the same on the V3 and V4 also. (These 3 models need rename on the new sprites, file names don't match. Written out a modified txt doc to make it easy in future when I get other models to flash. About to do final write now to test.

Trying to do this with my V3 but keep getting (Unhandled exception: System.ArgumentException: Image size is incorrect.) Is there any solution to this issue? I'm not quite sure what it means.

I would be nice if the USBC mod had some sort of power filter and regulator on it so you could charge it with any cable and it would be just fine and it would protect the problem with the F1 f2 fuse with the original port I've had a charger that would just instantly blow the fuse after 2 minutes of charging and I didn't know it was the charger until 2 fuse replacements And if this UBC mod could do all that that would solve a lot of people's problems and everybody would highly recommend the USPC mod way more

I'm trying to export in gitbash so i can replace the sprites and import but whenever i try to export it says "Unhandled Exception: System.Argument Exception: Image size is not correct" and a bunch of other stuff and when i check the file it created it didnt export all of the sprites. how do i fix that?

so i melted off the chip that you soldered it to and the digimon still works however i think it takes longer to time the screen out now, do you know if there is another place i can solder the positive to have the same effect of turning on and off with the screen
