Jerry I have a DJI drone which is a Chinese company but the biggest consumer drone manufacturer (along with camera's, microphones and other products) in the world. I recommend their products. I have far too much to say about drone features for this forum though. If you get serious we should talk. Don't go too cheap though. There are crappy drones out there.

Thanks for the comment Mark. I hope you are well. A drone is an expensive toy but I do enjoy mine! Keep in mind, IMHO as a lawyer, you need a Part 107 commercial license to use drone footage on KZfaq, assuming you are entertaining being monetized in the future. So that's a further investment in both time and money.

Maybe but it's a pretty ambitious project. Would YOU build something that big? But the real question is - are there even grain elevators on the gulf coast? if not, there is no place for that on my planned layout.

I want to say carbon black is a by product of the petroleum industry. Not sure. But I AM sure that it is used in the rubber tire production process and is why automobile tires are a uniform black color. The carbon black also aids hardness and longevity of the tires.

@@PKWModelwerx Sorry for the delay on this, I just saw your reply...so basically the FlaK gun was designated the FlaK 36 (FlaK being a contraction of Flugzeug Abwehr Kanone, or anti-aircraft gun)...the vehicle gun was KwK 36 (short for Kampfwagen Kanone, or tank gun)...FlaK/KwK 36 rounds complete in good shape are running around $1000 and up now. The rounds for the Tiger II, (KwK 43 gun) are hitting $2k now, sadly I do not have one of those, although the PIG model might fit that hole...oh, and the stenciling on the case was information on the powder used in the cartridge, charge weight, type and physical characteristics of the powder, maker, lot number....so that date on the stencil is for the powder manufacture, the date for the case would be part of the hed stamp on the base of the case. Don't know if they reproduced it on the model, but the projectile would be stamped in the steel with maker/date/lot number, and then stenciled (often, but not always) with the info on who filled the shell with explosive, what explosive was used, and date. So looking at the headstamp in your video, the case maker was avk (Ruhrstahl AG, Brackwede-Bielefeld), and was made in 1941. 6347 was the case designation for the FlaK/KwK 36 case (each type/caliber case had its own). The FlaK 18 designation was the original designation for the case, the FlaK 18 was the predecessor of the FlaK 36, they kept that designation on the headstamp. The primer shows it is a C/22 Electric primer, maker was bmv (Rheinmetall-Borsig AG, Soemmerda plant, Soemmerda) also made in 1941, 45 was a lot number. Most 88mm AP projectiles were actually filled, meaning they had an HE bursting charge with a base fuze, so that once it penetrated its target it would explode adding to the destructive power. The projectiles were loaded with 2.12 ounces of cyclonite. Hope this all helps round out the info on the shell!
