Great review! I agree there isn't really an exact Marvel Way that is implemented in today's comic books. And it is a fantastic book to reference back for a refresher. Stan Lee and John Buscema offer some great advice and I made a couple videos that provide further insight in how to practice what they recommend. Hope it helps anyone out there!

Between the Black Hole and The Last Star Fighter cards I knew the Last Star Fighter never had cards made but I wasn’t sure about Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers but I was able to guess right for one reason and the reason you may not like. When you have all four wax packs unopened you can tell which ones you made vs the original ones by how shiny or how dull the wax paper is. The shiny ones are the officially released cards and the dull ones were custom made. If you can figure out how to make your wax paper a little shinier to better fool us please make another video. I love these! 👍🏽

The Black Hole is my favorite Disney movie of all time, next to Something Wicked This Way Comes, (hint I don't think SWTWC got a card set). Update on comic progress, sadly the project has stalled as my laptop is trying to give out on me and I had to order a new PC. All files backed up.

I wish comics were promoted more like sports. Go to Google and type in what comics drop today and it will show you what major comics drop the week before and that week and next - like if you type in any sports league and the schedule shows up on the top of GOOGLE. Or you could figure out what is up with a character the same way you can figure out a players status. If i type in an athletes name and they are injured it will say that on google up top, so I have been wondering what is up with Cloak (from cloak and dagger) since he is missing in Blood Hunt event but I can't find out what is happening to him anywhere...

I’ve done both traditional and digital. Digital definitely has benefits when it comes to speed but you lose a lot of the charm. The texture of the paper, the different tools, even working around mistakes adds appeal. Another thing that annoyed me about digital is the brush packs and digital tools. Was never interested in downloading other peoples and making your own is a bit confusing. For the tools. Maybe I ain’t doing it right but drawing buildings, perspective and perfectly straight lines was always hard digitally. Feels easier to do those things on paper.
@ScottSerkland
@ScottSerkland 5 күн бұрын
I agree. Do you Use Clip Studio Paint? They have a lot of great perspective tools that make it way easier than doing perspective traditionally.

@@ScottSerkland I’m a photoshop user. At least I was until they updated their terms of service saying they’d feed my unpublished works into their AI. I might have to try clip studio paint when I need to do digital work. Does clip studio have invasive AI scanning? Decent digital perspective tools does sound nice.

Being a comic book kid in the 70s, I remember 7-11 being my go-to for buying comics. They used to stock Gold Key on the very top and very bottom of the turn style rack, out of eye level. They didn't seem to get the respect that Marvel and DC did with the placement on said racks.

I was definitely too young to see Alien (I was born in 98) I must have been between the ages of 7 to 11 but my parents were alright with it. I remember one day where my Mom and I watched all the Alien movies and my Dad would sporadically walk in and watch it with us. It was fun but sadly in my opinion the franchise went down after Aliens. Knowing that there was a kids toy from the Alien movie is so WILD to think about in today's age. Alien was really great but I love Aliens more... one of the only times where the sequel is as good if not better than the original. How can you NOT have a chest burster on a shirt?????😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 I'm surprised that you don't have a heat press.

I saw Aliens in the theater I'm not sure how I got in because I wasn't old enough to see a rated R movie. I was already a fan of Alien and learned about James Cameron making the sequel (I was also a big fan of The Terminator) It looked so cool and did not disappoint. Unfortunately, like you said the franchise went downhill from there, but Alien Romulus and the FX series sound promising.
