@@ScottSerkland Lol that's a good idea. For me, I prefer the small cow tails because with the long ones my jaw starts to hurt just after the half way mark since it's one of those candy's that takes a while to chew a piece. Have you ever had cactus candy? It's candy made from the prickly pear and it's a Phoenix company!

I actually like the Howard the Duck movie. 😁 Update, I have a new PC! Now I can finally get back to work. I tried out Copilot to help with writing, taking what I put down and narrowing or rephrasing it. The AI will sometimes use difficult words. Most of the suggestions aren't any better then what I've come up with on my own or don't fit the persona of the character. Its good on catching when I've used a wrong word and my brain couldn't see it. It may also be useful for when I need to add depth to a character and for pacing and scene tone. I wouldn't say that its a replacement for a human editor yet, but its much more then what I had before, which was no one.

I would love to hear about what drives you to switch programs when you do (what makes you start in procreate vs csp, why color in photoshop vs procreate, etc) and how you do some of the amazing lettering and other little techniques you do in this video. I'm ready for the 8 hour behind the scenes cut of the video for die hard fans!
@ScottSerkland
@ScottSerkland 19 күн бұрын
Hey Micheal, I’m not sure I’ll do an 8-hour deep dive but I might do a process video for Patreon (I don’t think there would be much interest for that on KZfaq.) There are a few reasons I switch programs one is familiarity. I’ve been working with Adobe products for years and am comfortable with them, they work well together yet each has its strength. For design typography or technical drawing, Illustrator can't be matched, but I wouldn't attempt to do any photographic work or airbrushed style coloring in Illustrator, for that I use Photoshop. I started using Clip Studio Paint because it's made for making comics and has the best brush engine I’ve ever found. If I could get brushes to work like they do in CSP in Procreate I might use Procreate more but as much as I’ve tried to match the brush settings in Procreate I can’t duplicate CSP’s G-Pen. The only time I use Procreate or the iPad Pro is when I’m traveling or sometimes in a video because I know a lot of people work in Procreate and enjoy seeing it being used in videos. I prefer working on a large surface and multiple monitors where I have more real estate to have references or a script open and maybe a KZfaq video playing while I work. I could probably do my coloring in CSP instead of Photoshop but PSD files can be opened in CSP so it is fairly easy to move back and forth between the two programs.

Between the Black Hole and The Last Star Fighter cards I knew the Last Star Fighter never had cards made but I wasn’t sure about Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers but I was able to guess right for one reason and the reason you may not like. When you have all four wax packs unopened you can tell which ones you made vs the original ones by how shiny or how dull the wax paper is. The shiny ones are the officially released cards and the dull ones were custom made. If you can figure out how to make your wax paper a little shinier to better fool us please make another video. I love these! 👍🏽

I wish comics were promoted more like sports. Go to Google and type in what comics drop today and it will show you what major comics drop the week before and that week and next - like if you type in any sports league and the schedule shows up on the top of GOOGLE. Or you could figure out what is up with a character the same way you can figure out a players status. If i type in an athletes name and they are injured it will say that on google up top, so I have been wondering what is up with Cloak (from cloak and dagger) since he is missing in Blood Hunt event but I can't find out what is happening to him anywhere...

I’ve done both traditional and digital. Digital definitely has benefits when it comes to speed but you lose a lot of the charm. The texture of the paper, the different tools, even working around mistakes adds appeal. Another thing that annoyed me about digital is the brush packs and digital tools. Was never interested in downloading other peoples and making your own is a bit confusing. For the tools. Maybe I ain’t doing it right but drawing buildings, perspective and perfectly straight lines was always hard digitally. Feels easier to do those things on paper.
@ScottSerkland
@ScottSerkland 26 күн бұрын

@@ScottSerkland I’m a photoshop user. At least I was until they updated their terms of service saying they’d feed my unpublished works into their AI. I might have to try clip studio paint when I need to do digital work. Does clip studio have invasive AI scanning? Decent digital perspective tools does sound nice.
