I flew the QH50-D model DASH off this ship (DD-807) in 1969/70 on a WestPac deployment. Video show the earlier C model with split tail fins.

"Anti-gravity" is a bullshit term as gravity doesn't exist! There's absolutely no propulsion of these machines, they're electromagnetic! Gravity doesn't exist only density! Put a raw egg into a cup of "Fresh" water and another into salt water! One floats while the other sinks! Why? Density. Drop a one lb brick from 100' & a pound of feathers at the same time, which hits the ground first? "Awe, C'mon man", it's elementary! 🦧🤣🥃🍺

Hands in the pocket, a good sign he's transferring your dollars to the other pocket. Take care of your past customers on the 162f sitting in the barn with a screwed up motor, "me thinks you part of the clown world"

Well david, why don't you effing honor your past customers on the rotor way 162f helicopter since we've got Julian's of dollars invested in it or do you intend to screw over your low life legacy customers ? I sure hate wasting a hundred thousand dollars

Have you met the De-evolved - souless Eugenics? Freed from long-held universal moral imperatives, the global transhumanist movement that nudges the masses to consume its wares also manipulates, patents, and, in this present "third-wave marketization" of the global economy, commodifies the raw materials of life. It pretends to be not merely a master of mimicry -biometrics, but an omnipotent all-knowing creator of material substance. God-level: "Divinity," according to WEF spokesman Harari, "is not far enough to describe what we are trying to do. Transhumanism is sweeping the world is, and we need to question it immoral imperatives that will enslave humanity . Don't be sheep led to the slaughter .

maryma khoslajeh is a narcissist woman who abuses and plays mind games with other women in workplace. She says they are focussing on attracting early career talent because Archer is full of Narcs who don't like experienced talented pple as all the Narcs are competing with each other. And they like less experienced , i.e. early career talent, whom these seniors boss around, abuse, play mind games and get their ego supply from. She is one of them. WOmen are demeaning other women, men are sexually abusing women in lower titles than them. When ur male NPD boss says to a subordinate female "U r like my wife" because that subordinate woman is pretty. Money, power, sex is what these pple are after. I will never use this technology .

I flew the last Ch-37B's from Korea to Tokyo in 1969 along with Brian Arsenault (recently deceased.) Did not need to touch the countrols over the Sea of Japan due to ASE on the aircraft. My favorite a/c across a military flying career of more than 40 years.

great discussion, thank you for sharing your thoughts and insights. I do have a question on the Skai design, it looks like there is not tilt capability in your propellers, so is forward flight established by variance in vertical thrust between the different propellers, if this is so, then would this generally lead to tilted horizontal flight, and if so, would passenger experience of that be less than favorable?

The FRAM destroyers in maritime museums have DASH facilities. The USS Joseph P. Kennedy (DD-850) at Battleship Cove in Fall River, MA has both the DASH hangar and a weapons magazine capable for reloading the DASH system and the Mk 116 ASROC pepperbox launcher.

Very interesting discussion and good to see how the different players in the market are navigating on different paths to AAM aircraft. Thought this was means to be an informative discussion and not debate or sales pitch - the guy from Joby (Ryan Naru) seems to have a rather large and weak ego throwing in comments that are unnecessary and then a dig about "not every organization is structured for innovation." Pretty uncalled for and unprofessional in this format of discussion.

(Sorry, for being the bad guy - intentions are good! :) ) From the Author's summary: “…we still have not achieved our goal of 1% performance prediction accuracy with CFD…. … dynamic stall remains a problem…”. Three remarks: a) Impression is most efforts are concentrated on calculating the exact parameters of some turbulent flow (in fact, those of many different turbulent flows), which - by definition - are basically random systems. The word "random" suggest it is impossible to give an exact description of the expected behavior of its parameters. This sounds like a controversy. Unsolvable even for a CFD running on powerful computers. b) Turbulent flows, generally, are not really a useful environment for generating lift in aviation. (In short: they are useless even if described exactly. The latter is, of course, impossible.) To make things even worse, most of these turbulent flows are produced by the rotors and propellers of the VTOL itself. In other words we ourselves are “financing” the creation of the environment, which is bad for us. Another controversy. c) The presence of the above controversies show the poor(?) CFD and the lack of robust empirical models are not the real culprits of our hardships. In reality, it is the imperfections of the investigated propulsion systems, which - as part of their normal(!) operating regime - produce too many losses, i.e. too much turbulent flow. Robust changes introduced in the investigated propulsion systems may hold the solution. In particular, possibly, replacing the presently used stiff rotor blades with a morphing construction, making the blades capable to change their shape the same way the speed vectors of the airflow change direction around the sections, could greatly reduce the ratio of turbulence. Recently, some new US patents offered mechanical options to produce the optimal variable blade twist rotors and propellers.

Curious to see the market development of the tilt rotor...it took a lot of time to FAA to figure out the right certif basis for tilt rotor, with specific airworthiness requirement not fully disclosed to public access, and probably linked to their need to understand the safety analysis compared to classic rotor/tail concept. case of autorotation in rare event of complete power failure is one of them but also pilot skills required. This may discourage a market expansion, but also recurring cost to operate and maintain such machine.
