Hi guys I have one question. I am a really big fan of Empire Total War and I also have Napoleon TW. I have an easy question. Which total war should I buy next?
@Panagiotis170914 минут бұрын
I cannot see this happening without a new engine. The problem is that CA has been consistently dumbing down its games for more than a decade. This could be magnificent but in reality will probably be arcadey AF.

I've always thought that the scale of battle in Total War is both a blessing and a curse . It looks really cool to see that many men in your army, but you can't actually look at your own troops when you have to zoom out far enough to see what's going on

I really enjoy the game as a solo player. One thing I think should be mentioned more is the amount of options you can tweak when setting up your game. You can adjust how long it's day, how long it's night time, how quickly (if at all) your castle decays, ect. There's a TON of options for pretty much everything to make it the perfect experience. I haven't touched it in online, I don't enjoy that kind of game so as a solo player, the amount of options it offers makes up for that. It's a phenomenal game.
@AndysTakeКүн бұрын
That's great to hear! What do you think make the single player the best for you, is it more chill kinda?
@prototype102010Күн бұрын
@@AndysTake I suppose the options. I liked the more chill experience, so being able to turn off castle decay, long nights, ect. made the game so much better. I could focus on the creative aspects more, and not worrying about tough as nails boss fights AND other players AND castle decay AND other mechanics.

5 titles that could maybe take the award for game of the century due to impact on the gamer after finishing the game, replayability, and overall longegevity. No particular order btw - skyrim (obviously) - Red Dead Redemption 2 (the 1st game should almost be a dlc at this point but isnt) - Witcher 3 (obviously) - GTA 4 (5 is only popular due to the multiplayer at this point whereas 4 was and always will be about the story) - idk now maybe only 4 games that could cut it...

Wait. So they're only selling you the campaign game? In order to play the full game you need to buy an entirely different tactical game else or its auto resolve? LMAO. No wonder I never heard of this game because the proposition is totally shit. It took him 80% of the video to mention this huge catch too. Hard pass. This game is not like Total War, its more like Half War.
@Another_opinion_Күн бұрын
The game is a campaign game only. It is sold as such. It happens to offer a chance to export its battles onto a different engine if you own it. I agree that it should not be marketed as a Total war style game (the company doesn't do it, just the usual KZfaqrs). It really isn't.
@AndysTakeКүн бұрын
They're two different games that now happen to be compatible with each other
@ZetlerКүн бұрын
@@Another_opinion_ You are correct. As soon as anyone mentions Total War, my expectations are set and the fact that tactical combat isn't included struck me a rug pull. To me this game is stuck between a rock and a hard place. It doesn't have tactical combat like Total War and it doesn't have the well established systems and emergent gameplay of CK2. The market for this game seems small, unless I already own Fields of Glory, there's no reason to pull the trigger because this is actually a DLC for that game.

I had a great campaign as Normandy. When FoG Empires first came out I struggled with it and gave up early on but went back to it later and had a great time. Kingdoms was on my wishlist as soon as it was announced. There's more mechanics compared to Empires but the gameplay is essentially the same. Both games lose a lot if you don't engage with importing the battles.

The game is probably good, as the older entrances in the series were. But for me, it suffers from the same problem as its predecessors. Namely, the idle animations of the small human figures both on the stategic and the tactical maps look as if they all are suffering from Huntington's or something. They can't stand still for a second! To see what I'm talking about, check the video from @1:50 and on. The archers along the lower edge of the map are the worst. On the tactical map where they stand in groups they are unbearable. For me, this constant fidgeting is a huge eye sore.

I have played this game for over a hundred hours now and I have greatly enjoyed it. There are some major issues that need to be addressed by the Slitherine team however. There must be a better way to reduce disorder in your provinces. Just try playing the Byzantine Empire. Even more significant is the inability to retreat from a battle. I would also like to see some type of mechanic to manage your dynasty - at least the ability to designate your heir. Still overall this is a great little game with an amazing amount of replayability. I would definitely like to see some changes, but I still highly recommend the game,
@AndysTake2 күн бұрын
I agree, as far as I know the devs are hard at work with listening to the community and figuring out what to do first while maintain the game’s difficulty. Personally I’d love some more clarity on the map with more use of fog of war etc, that would be neat! But wow, over 100 hours, what’s your favorite faction then? Or factions?

Isn't this like the other games where if you want to play battles you have to export them? I'd love a game in this series where the battles are integrated, but according to the steam page it's like the other games and battles just aren't worth doing that way IMO.
@AndysTake2 күн бұрын
The game exports them itself, it even opens the other game’s launcher directly for you. So all you have to do is click like 2-3 buttons and that’s that, and you’re in the tactical battles! It’s a really great feature, and even though it would absolutely be nice if it was *fully* integrated, I do believe two entirely different teams work on these two games. Imagine if SEGA owned both CA and Paradox. These are completely different games, but thanks to the SEGA connection and the mandate, CA and Paradox had the time and funding to create an official link between the games. This is how this game works - they’re two entirely different games, made by two entirely different studios, but made with a compatibility patch. We’re lucky to have this integration as far as I’m concerned :)
@notthatsrssrslyКүн бұрын
People misunderstand the battle system. There’s an auto battle system in the game. That’s the default and intended battle system. As a bonus they built an integration with their other series that allows you to play out battles. But it is not needed to play the game.
@seraphx2615 сағат бұрын
@@notthatsrssrsly I didn't misunderstand anything, I own a previous game in the series and know how it works, that's why I'm not interested in buying another unless/until the turn based battles are integrated.
