1. Work on Fundamentals 2. Practice old Test Questions 3. Time Trials (get competition) 4. Never leave the classroom before having your questions answered. 5. Math Notebook (Cheap sheet) 6. Do the easiest questions first. Then the hardest ones. 7. Sleep well 8. Study the possible questions and/or concepts

I am a 29-year-old mother of kids ages 8, 5, and 3. I decided that it was time to return to school to obtain a BA in Healthcare Administration. Mathematics has never been my strong suit, so I am having to take remedial classes to get to the actual math class that I need for my degree. My first math class in over 14 years starts tomorrow. I am honestly excited because my mindset has changed drastically since 2010 and I am ready for the challenges that come my way. Thank you for the advice, I look forward to putting them to good use!

I appreciate your inputs in helping the students. However, your judgemental comments on teachers are unacceptable. Don't just bring down the efforts of teachers just to highlight your points. As a IB learner, you should be better than this.

This is the ONLY problem I have with being naturally smart, not knowing how to study. I have never had to actually study in my life, and therefore have no clue how to study. Any help I find on KZfaq is never for people like me. It feels weird to study, so I don't want to start, nor do I know how. So if you are naturally gifted, start studying before it is too late.

My problem is that I didn’t know basics. I went back and did 4th to 12th grade math online again (literally free thanks to guys like the one in the video & others!) and I realized no one is TRULY bad at math, it’s just that math is just walking and you have to know the first step to take the second. It’s not hard at all. Thanks for the video it was great

This is all so true. I’m only taking Precalculus right now but I’m averaging a 97% from 4 different tests and it’s because of the amount of time and dedication put into solving the problems. Repetition and variety is key.

The 3rd segment has its flaws I agree that you should practice (a lot) but practicing a veriety of questions so you could solve similar questions in the test seems like shooting an arrow in the dark but with alot of practice. One thing people don't uderstand it that math is not practice it is a concept people need to read their maths books and think aboit the concepts in order to understand math and be able to solve complicated questions with minimal practice You did say somewhat similar thing later in the video but it is the most important thing to math.

The video is truly inspiring, and it's given me the push I need to fully commit to understanding trigonometry. I've struggled with my quizzes in the past, and I've often felt like I'm just not cut out for math. Even my dad reassured me that I don't necessarily have to excel in math. I'm genuinely grateful for the motivation and insight you've provided.

The 4 max hours study method was definitely magic. That's 4 hours of my day, dedicated to the deepest, highly concentrated brain work, no distractions. If I see myself struggle, I divide it into 2 hour sessions with 30-40 mins breaks. It really helped me build what I call as "math stamina". Before, I couldn't even do 30 mins of maths, nowadays, 3-4 hours is my norm. Then I take plenty of rest afterwards and enjoy my day. Also: When you go higher maths, white boarding helps - it will keep your brain reminded of the equations that you need to work out for.

I agree that most internet influencers that are discouraging people from attending college are generally trying to sell the viewer a get rich quick scheme, however I don’t believe this should completely retract all criticisms of college. Most 17/18 year olds are funnelled into the idea that they should attended college no matter what and if they don’t, they’re a failure. Most don’t even have a credit score, however are still freely given student loans which can rack up to six figures, but no sane bank would give them a business loan of $10k. Yet by the end of the degree 52% of graduates will be underemployed; meaning they are working a job that didn’t even require a degree in the first place. While some of their coworkers at their age, who didn’t even go to college may have six figures in savings without any debt. I’m currently studying CS which is supposed to be one of the “better” subject you can study, however I can guarantee you that most people in my class won’t be getting $100k jobs when they graduate or any jobs in the field at all, this is generally because CS is now a way too oversaturated field but also because the content in a CS degree is too theoretical and not very useful in practice. I’m currently having to learn all the useful skills on KZfaq which is free, compared to the college I’m currently attending. I believe this applies to many degrees where you aren’t taught the content that will actually be useful for the job, so you have to self-study the useful content outside of school. What is most important is not if you attend college or not, but your ability to learn and pick up information, with the internet and determination, you can easily learn all the contents of a degree and more for free and progress to the point where you can get hired (except for doctors, and lawyers). It is still 100% possible to be considered successful by any conventional metric and not attend college, just make sure your doing something productive and successful will naturally gravitate towards you.
