I don't really think Pokémon Sword and Shield is that mediocre, I enjoyed it a lot... I started playing pokemon games 12 years ago, when I was 9, and as someone who cares a lot about graphics and animations in my games, Sword and Shield were quite good to me. The main appeal to me was never the exploration or the challenge, I love casual and this new era of cozy and relaxing games and don't really mind the linearity, so those new pokemon games are nothing near to "garbage" to me. I say that since I see a lot of people complaining about the games getting too easy and blaming kids, but you guys tend to forget there are different kind of players in all ages. I'm satisfied with the new games and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one in Gen Z that thinks this way.

Legends arceus was a good game and people just hated it for no reason. The graphics could be significantly better, but, graphics are not the reason to say a game is bad. I'm sure you played these games when you were kids and you thought it was the best game ever. To be honest old games weren't too difficult. I beated pokemon gold just using ice punch with a feraligatr.

It depends at what age you start playing. I played pokemon ultrasun when I was 8 years old and it is the game I enjoyed the most.

literally the only thing i disagree with u on this vid was a small thing you said about riding pokemon. You said riding pokemon in XY was ass which i completely agree with but what i disagree with was the rest of that sentence. Pokemon has never gotten riding pokemon right ever period. The whole point of riding pokemon is that your bonding with your OWN creatures and can ride them wherever possible (maybe some limits in cities) not just random given pokemon or not like lets go. With lets go you can either have following pokemon or ride pokemon you cant ride a follow pokemon and you cant not ride a ride pokemon.... WHY. Just let us dismount and mount whichever pokemon we want(that obviously are physically large enough to ride) and all you need to do that is a saddle. Any game where riding creatures is possible you can choose to dismount and mount whenever you want, why cant pokemon have that flexiblity. also what SV did really pissed me off in that regard. They let us ride ONE pokemon and gave it literally every movement option except powered flight which i think is just forced. Wouldnt it be better to ride your own caught pokemon give it a saddle and let it do whatever movement option it can do instead of giving one pokemon ALL the movement options. Like pokemon SV is so braindead in terms of exploration post game you literally can go anywhere with your box art legendries which is stupid. Imagine riding a rapidash or something and encountering water and instead of rapidash just somehow getting floaters on it or something you actually need to use ur brain and take out a gyarados or something to go into the sea. ACTUAL PLAYER INTERATCTION WITH THE ENVIROMENT.

As someone who was seen as "uncool" for openly liking pokemon in elementary school during gen 3 mind you I absolutely see where you are coming from with the "normies" comments, That's honestly one thing that bothers me is how it suddenly became so socially acceptable again and now you have the same exact people who said they hated it suddenly acting like they like it.

You could not be more wrong about the anime. Don't talk about things if you haven't watched and don't understand them. There was nothing nostalgia bait about Journeys. In fact, many fans wanted it to be and complained that it wasn't. Journeys only reintroduced characters if necessary to the story and not willy nilly, ensuring it has its own identity first and foremost. The reason formulas changed with the anime is because it was naturally coming to a close, finishing up the character arc of Ash, and this was the natural direction it took to complete the wonderful vision of the story. SM and Journeys literally had the most creativity put into them, like never seen before. It was a passion project.

This game convinced me for sure that pokemon is a complete lost cause. What a nightmare it is to attempt to have fun. It has burnt all the nerves i used to have to want to replay older pokemon games.

Seems like a lot of these reasons are why they stick to remakes. Developers don't wanna give it 110% these days because they know they make money no matter what. Their names have been established already. Could they make a more exploration based game with more life all throughout? of course! will they? hell no they won't and that seems to be the issue as to what's wrong with not only Pokemon, but ALL GAMES these days. The only exception I can find is Zelda. Maybe they get paid more or have more passion in what they make? You gotta have passion and the desire. If you have the passion, that leads to more effort and an overall better product no matter the restrictions given

It's because pokémon never wants to pay their testers. They think we are just glad to playing the newest release before everyone else and then have to sign the NDA without pay. No wonder why the games look crappy
