This piece turned out so beautifully! And so cool to learn we can mix our owns without some kind of fancy additive.

I think this colour will be great for urban areas with buildings etc but also animals and desserts . I would like to use it for shadows also .. thank you for your video ..

What did you use to stir the paint in the tube?
@arthuratsingingcove11 күн бұрын
Sorry, but uv glass, museum glass and other products are shown to block the vast majority of UV rays. Unfortunately there are other parts of the sunlight spectrum that ca be harmful, and it is expensive. I would not trust ready-made frames and craft store glass, but a reputable framer.

Moonglow is a nice color for effects, but I have made variations and developed my own version that can be adjusted to my needs. The separation of colors has a fine effect in itself. It all depends on what the person intends to accomplish.

Thank you for this! I love my Mei Liang (Pretty Excellent) paints and finally gave in and ordered a 24 set of Paul Rubens. They arrive tomorrow and I can't wait to try them.

I also don't understand why people use Alazirin crimson, you can mix it with a quicricdone rose and viridian for example.

Hello. In my humble opinion Winsor & Newton is loosing the competition with Daniel Smith. Better quality and prices.

I guess that companies call PY150 so different. Daniel Smith call it really Nickel Azo Yellow. But w&n Transparent Yellow, White Nights Indian Yellow, they have Indian Gold which is supposed to be Quinacridone Gold ... I love this color and the transition between dark to light, it's totally different, in my humble opinion. Thank you!

i havent painted with watercolors yet, do i need to do anything special to make a colormix "seperate" into 2 colors when painting? like using mass and undertone? or does it happen naturally with some mixes? I have no idea but i want to know. hope you will answer. i find your videos interesting, and helpful thanks

Thanks for this review. Four years later, I still love my Pretty Excellent (Mei Liang) set. Nowadays it comes with the paint poured into actual separate pans, a nice improvement! I just bought my first set of Paul Rubens, the original 24 pan set. Can't wait for it to arrive.

Since they already have an Ultramarine with the same pigment, PB29, what would you say they differences is between the new Ultramarine Deep and the regular Ultramarine? Is it just the amount of pigment? Thank you for your videos 👍👍👍

I need a tube of that "Shadow"; looks like a decent sub for Moonglow without granulation...
@jenwilly72602 ай бұрын
I recently found out that you mix PBr25 with some PB60 look more like a slightly warm Burnt Umber that doesn't granulate (I am not a fan of granulating colors in most cases). Now if I could just find a non-granulating dupe for Raw Umber...

What other non-granulating "earth tone" watercolors are there out there? I paint a lot of food paintings, and the granulation in most earth tones don't really work so well for my purposes...

That was an awesome video. Details are important. I am starting out for my pleasure and I want to use quality paint, so I began researching which paints to invest in. I really had no idea there was so much difference but in the end don't we all want the work we do to last and continue as vibrant as we intended. Thank you so much for taking the time to share.

You're Awesome! I'm new to the craft and all in for the journey, just looking to find my niche /specialty skill. Good on you for putting out important and helpful information. Just from a beginner's standpoint, I'm trying to keep things basic with supplies and avoiding mistakes, which number more than the total colors of available paints. lol

Your art is stunning. Will using DS moonglow work for shadows. I just ordered a tube without knowing the information here. You'd think they'd have reformulated by now.
