Having so many of the Skirmisher abilities be once-per-mission is such a weird design choice on Xcom's part. Like I understand balance and all that, but just give them a really long cooldown or something instead of "you get this once ever". I think they have like 3x as many abilities that are once-only as any other class/hero class in the game.

1:01:05 The reasons Sectopods can show up on the Savage Sitrep is actually quite simple. There are no unmodded Beast type enemies that fill up Boss Pods, so the Sitrep just spawns any Boss pod with Beast Type enemies as followers if you don't have any modded enemies that fit the criteria or Chosen/Rulers to take their place.

Blast padding also gives you a point of armor. I grab it if I have a few shredders.

Bonding a Templar and Shinobi together is busted as hell in a regular run. I love all these runs. Watched them multiple times. Are you still planning on eventually doing a LW2 WOTC run? I just did one on veteran.

A somewhat old video, I know, but I think a big help to this run's early game could be the relic weapons research for the sole reason of acquiring the bolt caster. I have found that, despite the fact that it can only load 1 bolt at a time, its sneaky aim bonus and considerably higher damage output warrant using it over a rifle.

Hey Drifter, I had a question about your ambushes; you often set up overwatch ambushes and blow concealment, but doesn't overwatch give an aim penalty, and if you miss, you get shot at next turn? Wouldn't it be better to react to where they go after?

Your will stat must be very high to not give up this run.

Ironic how the 1 run that DIDN'T need hours of RNG restarts to get passed the first 2 missions (or any restarts at all) was the worst one

honestly the deaths ive seen in this video so far is less "the LW2 sharpshooter class is trash" and more bullshit dice rolls. I get this kind of comedically bad luck regardless of what class I use

I love the tiny subplot of the Frost Bomb repeatedly trading hands between the XCOM and the ADVENT. At least the ADVENT does not bother using it, though.

To be fair, the reason Mico could throw off the facehugger so easily was that it hadn't actually attached yet - once it's attached to your face, its over.

I can't believe that's how the last mission goes. Imagine if in Enemy Unknown you gear up for Operation Avenger, but on the deployment screen Old Central goes HOLD UP COMMANDER I GOT THIS, and him, Shen, and Vahlen assault the fortress themselves. What a hilariously tone deaf game this is. ...And five minutes later it got worse. Only *two* abilities for the endgame squad? Nobody even has anything unique? AND THE DUDES JUST DIE ANYWAY AFTER SWOOPING IN TO STEAL THE SHOW? What a pathetic finale.

Oh god, Sharpshooters They are quite bad early on, it's like the sniper class but worse and better at the same time, worse because they lose flexibility, better because of the holotargeter, that thing is insanely useful in LW at times Late game though, they become jacked in LW If you can get them to survive that long, which is harder than you'd expect

I was the first soldier to die and I take honor in that. My soldier was pretty good too, had the hidden skill 'Lethal' so it's kind of a shame we missed out on that, he wouldve been busted.
