thank you sir for the entertainment! back in the day we used mineral spirits to clean our carbs! only thing missing on our parts washer was a filter to keep the solvent cleaner!

The screw heads are all “screwed-up” on this bike because of using Philips tools on them instead of the correct JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) screwdrivers and bits. JIS bits do not “cam-out” like Philips tools do. The JIS screws usually have a small “ dimple” stamped into the head to indicate they are different than Philips. Once again, HONDA and the Japanese folks use a better fastener than screws used in the U.S. of A. Guess you could say, “It’s another way that we in the U.S. get ‘screwed’ !!!” 🃏🧐🤣

FYI… The casing screws may appear to be Philips Head, however, original Honda screws are JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard). Usually they will have a small “dimple” on the head to indicate they are JIS. Using the correct JIS tool will not damage the heads of the screws because the bit will not “cam out” like a Philips bit does.
