i appreciate that you took the time to make this video, but it's not a very good video. the first 11.5 min of your video had NOTHING to do with the install, aside from a quick "clean the rotors before install" that could have taken 5 seconds. And then you didn't even show how you pushed the pistons in. At the end of the video you mentioned some caliper spreaders or a c clamp, so I guess they're not the type of pistons that have to be screwed in, but you didn't mention that at the time of removal/install. You didn't show how you took the rotor off or put the new one on. Basically all this video did was "show off" you brakes and how meticulous you are with making your brakes look pretty. If you make another "install" video, focus on the actual steps and less on the extraneous stuff that is specific to your tastes and parts. Was not a very helpful video. Again, I appreciate that you took the time to make it though.

I am wondering why does the power have to be supplied using an Add A Circuit? Why can you not just plug one cut spade into left side of the NPP fuse slot and another cut spade into right side of NPP fuse slot and wire it with same switch? You could also put an inline fuse between the wire to the switch. That way you do not have to tap into Heated Seat with an Add A Circuit . Just wondering if that was considered and would give same results. What I believe all of this is simulates with the switch is pulling the NPP fuse out and putting fuse back in. Any thoughts or clarifications would much be appreciated

If you don't over torque the drain plugs, they should last the life of the car. You may need to replace the gasket/washer, but not the plug. That size thread is actually made to max at about 60 +ft lbs. safely. So when you torque the plug at 18 ft. Lbs. It is never going to stretch the threads.

Nice work. A few additional notes: On my 2012 Z06, the drain plugs are 15mm, and it takes 10.5 quarts of new oil. Being anal, I pour a little (maybe a quarter of a quart) of fresh oil in after the old oil has drained, and let that flush out the little leftover residue in the pan, before putting the plugs back in. Finally, being frugal, I made my own ramps using two 2"x12"x10' planks, gradually ramping them up using an array of 2"x4"x11" blocks stacked up gradually along the way. With four blocks on the front end and the thickness of the 2x12, it gets the front of the car up ~7.5"; and the rear up by 1.5", since the planks are just long enough to get both the front and rear tires on them.

I'm considering these rotors and pads for my C6Z, how was the stopping power and dust levels compared to the stock brakes?
@thomaqkotori58062 жыл бұрын
Hi, I bought a C6 last year and it had a M2W switch. It doesn't have a remote but a switch like yours (with 3 prongs) and I don't know how it's wired. I had to take the console out for another issue, and I disconnected all the wires of the M2W but now I don't remember how it used to be wired. The only components are wires, switch and add-a-circuit fuse tap. And I do remember that the add-a-circuit was plugged in the Exhaust Mdl location, not the heated seat location like you did. Can you somehow contact me and walk me through how to put the connections back together?

Difference between this and the MGW flat short throw shifter ?
@OpticalToxin2 жыл бұрын
I think you're right on the upper/lower mounting points on the shaft for the shift knob to gain leverage. I installed the MGW shifter with their gripper knob a few months ago, and it's honestly too low and makes shifting more difficult than I would like. I called MGW and they said the height makes a big difference. I think I'm going to switch to the shaft that accepts the stock knob to get some leverage back.

I have reservations regarding this procedure. I do use it on my motorcycle in the spring. BUT I pull the spark plugs which relieves the pressure on the dry rod and main bearings. Of course the cam and valve train still takes a dry beating. The slow rotation does reduce the dynamic compression so maybe its a good thing?
@ZWHOA6Productions3 жыл бұрын
GM would not have implemented this feature if it wasn’t safe.
@kerryblueher31473 жыл бұрын
@@ZWHOA6Productions As you stated, this feature was engineered and intended for a flooded engine situation. It was not engineered as a pre-oiler for a dry engine. Is a slow dry rotation better than an immediate dry start where the oil pump will more aggressively pump the oil…. I don’t know.
@ZWHOA6Productions3 жыл бұрын
@@kerryblueher3147 Good question. I just have to believe that pre-cranking the engine with oil has to be better than a full-on instant dry start after months of sitting.
