It's not listed here, but as a native Texan, I can highly recommend anywhere in the Texas Hill Country, most especially Lost Maples State Park. It is one of those little known little jewels of the Texas State Park system. I would never leave there if I could. Yeah the layers of sediment are very beautiful and vivid shows of geology. Fort Worth is about an hour and a half from another little jewel box, a Texas town called Haskell. I live in Haskell, and there is a lot of history here. Its one of those places where the kids really do play in the streets. El Paso is nice, but very busy and the roads and highways are a bit confusing to visitors. Big Ben is nice, but I prefer a more private place. It gets swarmed with visitors every year. Dallas is big, but there are areas in and around Dallas that are like little towns, despite its size. It is surrounded by small suburb's and towns. Galveston is beautiful, I do prefer Padre Island if I was gonna pick a beach. It is smaller, fewer visitors and more private. Yeah Fredericksburg is great, lovely antique markets, but I love Vanderpool and the tiny towns. Austin is huge, I notice they are listing the biggest cities, but I love the little ones there aren't huge crowds, lol. Houston is a Texas Giant, very big, very busy, and very crowded. San Antonio is another giant, but somehow it feels smaller. The river walk is a perfect blending of cultures where you can get some of the most delicious Mexican and Tex-mex food to be found.

There’s nothing wrong with flying to Austin it’s easier than Dallas and Houston’s airports. There’s a lot of cool stuff in Austin and it seems like y’all like outdoors stuff which there’s plenty within just the city (Barton Green Belt which has a mini waterfall and Mount Bonnell). And the Hill country, San Antonio, and Buccees are all close to Austin. Hope y’all have fun visiting the state and my home town of San Antonio! Interestingly I’ve never thought too much of the river walk but it’s really nice the closest thing you can get to Europe styled zoning tbh. Ironically there are alot of rollercoasters in SA. Oh and the building y’all liked at 18:00 was the capital building 😉

It's not the sights in Austin that folks are warning you away from. It's the people. The city's motto "keep Austin weird" speaks for itself.

The heaters work like the cold weather hand and foot warmers but more powerful. warmers work by basically by the rapid oxidation of ground iron filings. What they don't tell you is they do cause some constipation. In a combat situation you can't always take a dump. The MREs are made to last up to 20 years. The are vacuum packed and cannot go moldy. I have eaten some that were 25 years old. If you buy some beware there are some phony makers out there. I would not go with Etsy, they mostly sell cottage industry stuff.

When I was in the USAF, the A-10s were just coming online(physically) and I was working occasionally at a nearby air gunnery range. The first time I heard one let loose as it went over the control tower, I could swear that GOD himself was quickly ripping the biggest piece of canvas apart right over head at about a hundred feet above.

Austin is the best city in Texas. Don’t like the politics but city is wonderful. Check out LBJ presidential library, Bob Bullock Texas history museum. Also the west of the city is hilly and beautiful.

I live in Houston and go to Galveston frequently. I love the island. But as far as cities go San Antonio can't be beat. The Hill Country is beautiful with a lot of towns settled by German immigrants in the 1800's. New Braunfels, Boerne, Gruene, and Fredericksburg are not to be missed. Texas is very large and it is impossible to see everything. We are a friendly people and welcome you to enjoy the land we love. Safe travels!

The best college football venue for the perfect atmosphere is the Red River Rivalry: Oklahoma versus Texas. Always at the Texas State Fair in Dallas Texas , while the state fair is going on (your ticket gets you in the fair and the game). Played at the Cotton Bowl. It’s like going to a college football game at an amusement park. You don’t even have to like football to enjoy it.

Austin is basically a relocated California nowadays, that's why people tell you to go to the other cities.

As a born and raised Texan, I love watching people not realize how large this state is. For example, there are 635 miles between El Paso and Dallas. All one long highway (I-20). There are 579 miles between Austin and El Paso. Meaning, you guys are flying or did fly into Austin, it would take at least 10 hours to drive to El Paso from Austin, if you don't stop for bathroom/food breaks. Luckily, we have some of the highest speed limits, some highways allowing up to 85MPH. Someone seriously needs to update the travel guides for Texas though. Aside from San Antonio and Galveston, I wouldn't suggest any of these places anymore.

12:14 Is right where JFK was shot. His car was coming down the street when LHO shot him in the neck and head. Austin isn't bad to at least visit, i mean it is our state capital, but Austin is the least Texas like city in all of Texas. Austin wants to be more like a city in California, very liberal, and young. Lots of music and lots of bars downtown. San Antonio is very old and cultural, I love it. Dallas Ft Worth is great, but the real Texas are the small towns: Fredricksburg, New Braunfels, Lulling, Dripping Springs, Driftwood (The Salt Lick), Boerne, Wimberly, Amarillo, Port Aransas(beach), Corpus Christi(beach), Padre Island National Seashore, etc. San Marcos, Seguin,

Yes we have alligators, but not many unless you live more East and Southeast Texas. But if i remember correctly, there's only been 1 or 2 alligator deaths in the last 100 yrs. Our alligators are not like the ones in Florida, those are mean.

The only problem with the video you watched is that it was really heavily focused on cities. Not that those aren't worth visiting. I grew up in Dallas and still live near it, but my favorite places are the smaller towns, state parks, and country. They covered the Hill Country, Palo Duro (which is one of my favorite places), and Big Bend. But I'd recommend a visit to places like Caddo Lake, Jefferson (town near Caddo Lake), Enchanted Rock (in the Hill Country), South Padre Island, Port Aransas, or Caprock Canyons among others. But Texas is very big and some of these places are far apart from each other, so you need to plan accordingly. Of course, maybe you've already been here by the time you see this comment.

I am sorry byt us as Americans listen to patriotic songs then comment not play 15 seconds stop comment play 15 seconds and so on. Sorry I cant get past 2 minutes of this video cause i want the song then the reaction not all at once and through out the song it ruins the patriotism and the song that way. Sorry just my feelings.

Austin is very Liberal which is why it's considered "weird", as most of the State is Conservative, though there are Liberals enclaves abound in all of our major cities in Texas. Austin USED to be a great place but Liberal policies taken to the extreme have spelled disaster for every Liberal Democrat city in America. (due to Homelessness, crime, the "woke", LGTBQ, legal drugs, corrupt politicians....)
